Before the Chargers traded J.C. Jackson to the Patriots on Wednesday, there was drama between the cornerback and his former team. Jackson refused to enter Sunday’s matchup against the Raiders despite being healthy enough to play, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
During the Week 4 matchup, Jackson repeatedly refused to enter the game with his shoelaces remaining untied despite his team needing him to fill in for Michael Davis in the third quarter when he injured his ankle.

ATLANTA — It was Saturday, which in this part of the world is college football time, so perhaps it was fitting that after their 3–0 win over Atlanta in Game 1 of the National League Division Series, everyone in the Phillies clubhouse wanted to quote former University of Miami linebacker Rohan Marley.
“Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time situations,” said right fielder Brandon Marsh.
Catcher J.T. Realmuto said the same thing, then added, “Our guys did that tonight, and that’s why we won.
Just when you thought you’ve seen the most embarrassing ending of a college football game, Miami told folks to hold its beer. Thanks to an absolute choke-job in the final minute of the game, the Hurricanes lost to Georgia Tech, and this one’s on Mario Cristobal.
Miami had fought back against a pesky Yellow Jackets team and had the 20-17 lead, only needing to take a few knees late in the fourth quarter with 35 seconds remaining. The game was over, as Georgia Tech was also out of timeouts, so all the Hurricanes had to do was run out the clock.
The biggest game of Week 5 of the NFL season is Sunday night’s tilt between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys. Oddly enough, one of the biggest storylines going into the game involves Dallas backup QB and former Niner Trey Lance, who may likely not see a single snap.
The 49ers found themselves with several QBs on the books, and once Brock Purdy locked up the starting gig and the team decided Sam Darnold looked to be a suitable backup, they looked for a place to ship Lance, who they selected third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

After spending much of last year headed in the wrong direction, Wall Street turned the tables in 2023, with many stocks making up lost ground. Each of the major market indexes climbed at least 20% from their respective bottoms, though they have since given back some of those gains. While stock splits don’t change the underlying value of the company in question, they are historically preceded by a period of strong financial and stock performance, leading them to split their shares.
