ESPN announced a massive wave of layoffs Friday, including some of the network’s biggest names. Todd McShay, Suzy Kolber, Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, David Pollack and several others were cut by the Worldwide Leader in Sports as it attempts to slash $30 million in salaries.

Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson was asked about the trade request from superstar teammate Damian Lillard that took the NBA world by storm.
Lillard’s request to be traded from Portland became public on Saturday, with various teams, namely the Heat and Nets, emerging as potential landing spots for the All-Star point guard. 
After a workout session on Saturday, media members spoke to Henderson about Lillard’s trade request. 
“I would love to play with him. We have a great relationship,” Henderson said of Lillard.

Russell Westbrook and the Clippers have reportedly reached an agreement which will keep the veteran point guard in Los Angeles for the next two seasons.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Westbrook and the Clippers agreed on a two-year, $8 million deal in free agency. The deal includes a player option for the second season, meaning Westbrook could re-enter free agency as early as next year.
Last season, the Lakers dealt Westbrook to the Jazz at the trade deadline following a tumultuous stint with the franchise.

Most fans in Cincinnati will have been happy about the Reds’ walk-off victory on Friday night, except for those in attendance at the nearby Taylor Swift concert, that is.
“Swifties” sold out Paycor Stadium, home of the Bengals, on Friday as the pop music star’s Eras Tour came to Cincinnati. Unfortunately, some of Swift’s slower songs seem to have come at an inopportune moment.
Right in the middle of Swift’s performance, Reds’ Spencer Steer gave his team a 7-5 win with a walk-off two-run home run against the Padres.

The Sacramento Kings agreed to terms Saturday with EuroLeague Most Valuable Player Sasha Vezenkov on a three year, $20 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Vezenkov, a Cyprus native who has played the past five seasons for Greek club Olympiacos, joins a talented Kings club that is coming off its first playoff appearance since 2006. The Kings finished the regular season at 48-34 and pushed the Warriors to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.

The Rockets are closing in on a deal to acquire Dillon Brooks, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The deal could result in a potential sign-and-trade with the Grizzlies, per Charania. 
Brooks lived up to his “Dillon the Villain” moniker last season as one of the NBA’s most controversial players.

Hadwin took advantage of the soft conditions at Detroit Golf Club, and fired one of the best rounds of the week on Canada Day.
Oh, Canada. Adam Hadwin is on fire.
The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native celebrated Canada Day in style, firing a 9-under 63 to vault to the top of the leaderboard at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
His 63 tied the course record.
Detroit Golf Club, the host of this week’s tournament on the PGA Tour, has received plenty of rain this week—including a storm that knocked down some trees earlier in the week.
