One of the biggest winners of this year’s U.S. Open has undeniably been the United States’ Ben Shelton. Riding a mesmerizing serve that twice peaked at 149 miles per hour, Shelton surpassed his quarterfinal run at the Australian Open earlier this year to reach the semifinals at the age of 20.
However, Shelton’s tournament ended in abrupt fashion Friday afternoon, as Serbia’s Novak Djokovic dispatched him in the semis, winning 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

In 60 minutes of game time, Colorado coach Deion Sanders has transformed the Buffaloes into one of the biggest stories in American sports.
On Saturday, Colorado topped then-No. 17 TCU 45–42 in Fort Worth, Texas. The unlikely circumstances of the win—the Buffaloes went 1–11 last season while the Horned Frogs won the Fiesta Bowl and played for the national title—shocked the nation, and writers responded by voting Colorado into this week’s AP Top 25 at No. 22.
A Week 2 battle between No. 3 Alabama and No. 11 Texas will be among the most anticipated of the weekend, but in the eyes of ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, one team may already be in over its head before kickoff.
The NFL QB-turned-analyst briefly turned his attention away from Week 1 in the NFL to deliver his scathing perspective on the Crimson Tide, and quarterback Jalen Milroe—a week removed from winning his second career start—during a Friday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
Neither Rodgers nor his Jets teammates are shying away from the huge expectations this season. Now it’s time to turn the hype into reality.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has reportedly deactivated his X account (we all know it’s still Twitter) after a nightmare first game with his new team.
The Chiefs passing game was the focus of the season opener, with star tight end Travis Kelce out of commission. Everyone knew it would be tough sledding, but no one expected the Chiefs passing game to suffer the way it did.
Toney especially had a miserable evening, racking up more more drops than receiving yards. The former Giant was targeted five times in his Chiefs debut, but only caught one pass for a single yard.
In the AFC North, the 2020s have belonged so far to the Bengals. Cincinnati has won two of the three division titles awarded this decade and the 2021 AFC title, and nearly repeated as AFC champions in ’22.
However, the Bengals have frequently been vanquished in the last three years by an unlikely rival: the Browns.
Cleveland, despite a mostly mediocre decade since its 2020 playoff appearance, is 5–1 against Cincinnati since ’20. Despite the Bengals’ struggles in the Battle of Ohio, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase brushed off suggestions that his team has a Browns problem.
After decades of being known as the NFL’s loneliest number, the previously-banned No. 0 jersey will see plenty of run across the league in 2023.
Prior to receiving the vote of approval at this spring’s owners meetings, the No. 0 jersey, worn by only 15 players, had been cast aside following a rule change in 1973. But, with the restriction now lifted, several stars, including the returning Calvin Ridley, who was the first to take up the “Agent Zero” mantle, have since made the change.
With Week 1 officially upon NFL fans, lets take a look at the players who will wear the rare No.
Walker Buehler was supposed to help stabilize the Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation heading into October. But with breaking news on Friday, those plans are officially over.
And it once again highlights that the biggest revolving door in Major League Baseball is starting pitcher in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers started the season with a rotation of Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Dustin May, Noah Syndergaard and Tony Gonsolin, with Walker Buehler recovering from Tommy John surgery and hoping to return before the end of the season.
Dustin May went down for the season with yet another arm surgery.
The Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns will square off in Week 1. While it should naturally be a heated NCF North rivalry, Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase threw a little gas on the fire with some good old-fashioned disrespect.
However, it makes you wonder if he inadvertently gave the Browns some bulletin board material.
While the Bengals head into Sunday’s game as slight favorites, they’ve lost five of the last six against the Browns.
Chase is aware of this, but that didn’t stop him from taking shots at the Browns when he could.
“It’s a regular game to me.
