The status of Browns tight end David Njoku remains up in the air for Week 4 against the Ravens after he suffered facial burns on Saturday, per an official team announcement. But while his status is in question, there are still numerous questions surrounding what happened, although the team described it as a “household incident” that led to burns on his face and arm.
Njoku arrived for the team’s matchup with the Ravens, but did so while wearing a full mask, as Cleveland.com’s Hayden Grove detailed.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr will start Sunday against the Buccaneers while still dealing with a sprained acromioclavicular (AC) joint, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Carr suffered the injury in the third quarter of New Orleans’s loss to the Packers last weekend when he was wrapped up and thrown down hard by Green Bay’s Rashan Gary. Coach Dennis Allen said the Saints “dodged a bullet” Monday in regards to the significance of the injury and Carr was announced as week to week.
Booger McFarland has gone from Monday Night Football to Andy’s Room in Toy Story. I guess ESPN didn’t lay him off, which is a good thing.
In return, though, they just asked the ex-NFL player to throw on a virtual scuba suit and announce a cartoon version of this morning’s Jaguars-Falcons game.
So, is this worth not getting laid off?
I mean, you tell me!
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Booger McFarland and Drew Carter’s motion capture setup for the live Toy Story telecast:pic.twitter.
The rivalry between Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore has been well-documented over the years. Back in 2022, the two got into an on-field fight which led to both players being ejected from the game, and that’s just for starters.
Now, with the NFL rolling out its unique ‘Toy Story’ approach to the London matchup on Sunday, it led to some great tweets about the two players ahead of their own matchup slated for the afternoon — with obvious disappointment they didn’t receive the ‘Toy Story’ broadcast.
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has sat out during the first four games due to being put on the physically unable to perform list after undergoing ankle surgery in the offseason, but the team is eyeing a close return for their star.
Taylor is expected to return to practice on Wednesday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported. The running back has a 21-day practice window, so if the Colts activate him Wednesday, they will need to either put him on the active roster, or on injured reserve, by Oct. 24.
The Raiders are expected to start rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell against the Chargers on Sunday with Jimmy Garoppolo out with a concussion, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The news was confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The assumption was that veteran signal-caller Brian Hoyer would get the start, but the fourth-round pick will make his NFL debut instead.
O’Connell was at Purdue for six seasons and in 2022 he finished his final campaign there with 3,490 passing yards and 22 touchdowns to 13 interceptions in 12 games. Las Vegas selected him with the No.
Sunday will be a big day for rookie quarterbacks in the NFL. And yes, that includes Las Vegas Raiders rookie Aidan O’Connell.
O’Connell is expected to start for the Raiders at the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday afternoon, multiple sources are saying. O’Connell starts because Jimmy Garoppolo is in the concussion protocol and unavailable for this game.
Raiders coach Josh McDaniels picked O’Connell ahead of veteran Brian Hoyer.
Rory McIlroy and Joe LaCava reportedly met at the Ryder Cup to clear the air Sunday, one day after their disagreement on the 18th green spilled into a parking lot.
Bears WR Chase Claypool will be inactive against the Broncos on Sunday, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Notre Dame’s thrilling comeback on Saturday night against Duke was capped with a 30-yard touchdown by running back Audric Estime with 31 seconds remaining. The Irish, who navigated a drive led by quarterback Sam Hartman from their own five yard line, were down 14-13 at that point could have attempted to setup a game-winning field goal just before Estime broke loose for the game-winning run.
Speaking with the media after the game, Hartman defended the touchdown run by essentially shrugging it off and focusing more on the excitement of the moment.
