NASCAR Cup Series driver Kurt Busch has officially announced his retirement.
This comes about 10 months after the 45-year-old announced he was stepping away from full-time competition. This was due to lingering issues with a concussions following a crash at Pocono last season.
However, he never used the word “retire” until Saturday afternoon ahead of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona.
Busch posted a video with his announcement and a thank you message to his social media accounts.

On Friday night, the James family announced that Bronny James had been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect that was the “probable cause” of his cardiac arrest at a July practice. Bob Barker, an American television icon, has died at the age of 99, his publicist Roger Neal announced Saturday.
The talented television personality was best-known for being the host of television’s extremely popular game show The Price Is Right.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us,” Neal said in a release.
Barker, who spent decades inside family living rooms giving away incredible prizes to lucky contestants, became the face of the longest-running daytime game show in TV history.
