Benches cleared during the Yankees–Rays clash on Sunday after Randy Arozarena was hit by a pitch from Albert Abreu in the bottom of the eighth inning. 
Arozarena took exception to the inside fastball from Abreu, nearly slamming his bat in frustration before turning to face the mound and attempt to approach the pitcher. He was held back by home plate umpire Adam Beck, but the outfielder continued to jaw at Abreu, who eventually began chirping back.

The Little League World Series Championship game featured a matchup between the top team from the international side — the Caribbean region team from Willemstad, Curacao — and the top team from the United States side — the West region team from El Segundo, California.
California faced the Southwest region team from Needville, Texas in the United States final. In their previous matchup, Texas defeated California (3-1). But, the West champions won the game that matter, a 6-1 victory in the United States final, to reach the championship game.

It’s a heated day at Tropicana Field. The failing New York Yankees are in town to take on the Tampa Bay Rays and Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena is stirring up drama.
Arozarena was plunked in the bottom of the eighth inning by Bombers reliever Albert Abrea, with the Rays up 6-4.
Abreu’s fastball to the ribs, on a 3-1 count, set Arozarena off. It didn’t take long for the outfielder to start barking at the Yankees reliever, which sparked a benches-clearing altercation.

Despite Team USA’s opening 99-72 victory over New Zealand in the FIBA World Cup, Brandon Ingram voiced his frustration over lack of playing time in an interview with Joe Vardon of The Athletic on Sunday. 
The talented NBA power forward, who averaged a career-high 24.7 points per game last season with New Orleans, is unhappy with his playing time in the international competition.
“This is totally different than what I am used to,” Ingram told Vardon. “The team is winning right now, so I can’t be selfish thinking about myself.

Vijay Singh erased a deficit to win The Ally Challenge, marking the first time he won a Champions Tour event since 2018.
Three-time major champion Vijay Singh came from behind to win The Ally Challenge, his first Champions Tour victory in almost five years.
He carded a 4-under 68 Sunday to finish at 14-under par, one stroke ahead of three-time PGA Tour winner Jeff Maggert.
“It was a long time coming,” Singh said after his victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan released a heartfelt statement of support for Duval County after the horrific, ‘racially-targeted” shooting on Saturday near Edward Waters University.
The outpour of support for the community has been tremendous; from Shad Khan to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who called the shooter a “scumbag” in his own statement.

Jordan Love is a fourth-year NFL quarterback with just one start in his career. He did not play at all during his rookie season. He had one start with the Green Bay Packers in 2021 due to an Aaron Rodgers injury.
But with Rodgers now in New York and starting for the Jets, Jordan Love is the Packers starting quarterback. And for the first time in his career, he’s going to start Week 1.
To his credit, Love posted a strong preseason.

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs waited for a better contract ahead of the 2023 season, holding out from the team’s offseason program and training camp until he was offered a one-year, $12 million deal on Saturday.
The Raiders placed the franchise tag on their star running back during the offseason, but Jacobs did not sign the $10.091 million tender ahead of the July 17 deadline. 
However, there was a report that Jacobs was offered this deal before the deadline. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio is stating now that this report was false.

The latest topic of discussion for Jones was the surprising trade with the San Francisco 49ers for quarterback Trey Lance. The Cowboys sent a 2024 fourth-round pick out West for the third overall pick of the 2021 draft.
