One of the great things about modern technology is that you can easily know how far a home run was hit. MLB’s Statcast data allows fans to contextualize feats of strength like never before. But Statcast uses estimated distances. It calculates how far a ball would have traveled given the launch angle, exit velocity and atmospheric conditions. If a player hits a towering shot into the upper deck, Statcast might calculate that it went 430 feet even if it landed in a seat just 370 feet from the plate.

The Seattle Seahawks became the latest NFL franchise to unveil slick new throwback uniforms, and fans everywhere loved them.
Seattle’s fresh look features royal blue jerseys with green accents and silver helmets with a blue and green Seahawks logo on the side, all meant to imitate the threads the team wore in the 1990s, when the team’s future in the city was secured because of Paul Allen purchasing the franchise. The team is expected to wear the new uniforms for an Oct. 29th home game against the Cleveland Browns (who also have some cool alternate uniforms).

Tiger Woods and his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman are officially finished. Herman has decided to drop her $30 million lawsuit against his estate, per the New York Post.
She dismissed the massive case pending the result of her latest appeal. She filed to nullify a 2017 NDA that she signed with Woods.
Herman first filed the suit against the 5-time Masters champion in the fall of 2022.

A recent women’s tennis match ended in a tearful retirement after a controversial call sparked a tense back-and-forth between two players at the Hungarian Grand Prix. 
In the opening set of Tuesday’s round of 32 match, Chinese tennis player Zhang Shuai hit a crosscourt shot that appeared to land on the line on the side of her opponent Amarissa Toth. However, a line judge called the ball out and the chair umpire got down to examine the ball mark before confirming the line judge’s call.
