There are some things you grow into, others out of, and rare things that never leave you. When Jamal Murray first shot an arrow it was at his Kentucky Wildcat teammate, E. J. Floreal, watching from the bench. Murray had fired off a corner 3-pointer, springing up in the air with enormous lift, and turned to Floreal when he made it back to earth to just as fluidly pull his right arm back and spear his left arm forward into an archer’s stance.
Michael Jordan’s run as an NBA owner is coming to an end. Jordan’s reportedly agreed to sell the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall. Jordan has owned the Hornets for 13 seasons. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the pending sale.
In 2010 Jordan purchased a majority stake in the Hornets for $275 million. The price that Plotkin and Schnall are expected to pay Michael Jordan has not been announced, but expectations are that the team will sell for well more than $1 billion.
Matt Ishbia purchased the Phoenix Suns in late 2022 for $4 billion.
Shortly before the thrilling and controversial match between the USMNT and Mexico kicked off on Thursday night, a report from The Athletic indicated that Gregg Berhalter would be returning as manager of the American side. To say that decision is surprising would be an understatement.
While Berhalter was able to lead the USMNT out of the group stage during the 2022 World Cup, he was on thin ice among many American supporters. That ice became paper thin shortly after the U.S. fell to the Netherlands.
A possible free-agent addition could boost New England’s outlook.
News broke on Friday morning that Michael Jordan is finalizing terms on a sale of his majority stake in the Hornets to an ownership group led by billionaires Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The impending sale would end Jordan’s 13-year run as the majority owner. Jordan will continue to oversee basketball operations through the NBA draft next week and the start of free agency on July 1.
Once the sale is finalized, Jordan will keep a minority stake in the franchise.

Time may be running out on Conor McGregor.
If McGregor is going to fight this year, then Friday is the last day he can enter the USADA testing pool. As of Thursday, McGregor had not shown any sample counts in 2023. Otherwise, if he is not enrolled in their six-month requirement, he cannot fight in ’23, pushing a potential bout against Michael Chandler to next year.

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but that Shohei Ohtani guy is pretty good at this baseball thing.
The Los Angeles Angels all world pitcher/DH is one of, if not the best player in baseball, and he’s hit a completely different level this season. Through Friday, Ohtani is tied for the MLB lead in home runs, while also tying for third in strikeouts…as a pitcher.
In the Angels four game stint against the Rangers, Ohtani was on one.
Hornets owner Michael Jordan has agreed to sell the team to an ownership group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Plotkin is the founder of Melvin Capital and was already a minority owner of the Hornets, while Schnall is the co-president of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and was a minority owner of the Hawks prior to the sale. As part of the sale, Jordan will keep a minority stake in the team.
Jordan, who officially retired from the NBA following the 2002–03 season, initially bought a minority stake in the then Charlotte Bobcats in 2006.
