Bust. It’s the dirtiest four-letter word in fantasy football.
Fantasy managers who drafted players such as Russell Wilson, Jonathan Taylor and Deebo Samuel last season know the term (and its consequences) all too well. Selecting a bust, especially in the early rounds of your draft, can be devastating to your chances of fielding a true fantasy league postseason contender.
To me, the term “bust” includes players who either don’t live up to their draft position or were selected to play prominent roles and fail in the stat sheets.

335 GALLONS OF JELLO SHOTS!
The Jello Shot Challenge is one of the College World Series’ proudest traditions, and LSU fans blew everyone out of the water in 2023. Each year Rocco’s Pizza in Omaha puts up a big board with the remaining teams, challenging fans to prove their allegiance by downing as many as possible during the week — with all the proceeds going to charity.
LSU answered the call, and well …

Running back Dalvin Cook and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins have more in common than you might think. Both played collegiately in the ACC for teams that made major bowl games during their tenures—Cook for Florida State, Hopkins for Clemson. Both have made four or more Pro Bowls.
Now, both find themselves free agents at the ages of 27 and 31, respectively. Their concurrent availability has Cook thinking about a potential collaboration, something he expressed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on his podcast on Monday.
Despite being 38-years-old, injury-prone and the subject of trade rumors for weeks, Chris Paul was surprised that he was traded.
On Sunday, news broke that Phoenix was sending the former Point God to Washington, along with Landry Shamet and a bunch of second round draft picks, for Bradley Beal and Isaiah Todd.
Paul’s trade to DC followed a leak from earlier this month that stated the Suns were going to waive the expensive veteran. He had been in Phoenix for three seasons and is slated to earn $30.8 million (guaranteed) for the 2022-23 campaign.
Min Woo Lee carded one of the lowest scores of the day during Sunday’s final round of the U.S. Open and a text from his fellow countryman Adam Scott the night before seems to have played a role.
Lee put himself firmly in contention after the opening two rounds at Los Angeles Country Club as he found himself at 6-under heading into the weekend. Saturday wasn’t as kind to the 24-year-old as he posted a four-over 74 which led to a drastic drop on the leaderboard.

Can the Reds extend their win streak to 10 in a row?
We’re betting on it.
On Friday night, I appeared on the Pirates-Brewers pregame show for Apple TV and told everyone to grab the Reds at 8-to-1 odds to win the division. It felt bold at the time. It doesn’t anymore. The Reds are now all the way up to +400 at SI Sportsbook after sweeping the reigning World Series champion Astros over the weekend.
The Reds made it nine in a row Monday night and moved into first place in the NL Central, but what made it electric was the return of Joey Votto.
Welcome to 32 teams in 32 days. To get us through the offseason, we’ll be taking a closer look at every team in the league, in order of projected 2023 win totals.
The Titans took their best shot at winning it all. But after falling in the 2019 AFC title game and then cascading down the list of contenders in the following years, first-year general manager Ran Carthon has been brought aboard to reshape the roster.
Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts left a lasting impression on the 2022 NFL season by delivering a thrilling Super Bowl in Phoenix four months ago.
With the Chiefs getting the best of the Eagles, Mahomes was the one who got the victory tour this offseason, including visiting the White House and riding the Super Bowl MVP float at Disneyland.
But Hurts also received the bulk of the spotlight, turning his breakout season into a massive five-year, $255 million contract extension.
Nobody predicted Nikola Jokic would become a two-time NBA MVP and world champion when he was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft. Julius Randle, also a member of the ’14 class, didn’t necessarily see Jokic’s dominance coming either.
Randle, who was drafted seventh overall in 2014, recently joined Paul George’s show ‘Podcast P’ and admitted that he had written off Jokic as a “slow, fat” guy but things changed for him during his second year in the league.
“The Joker, bro. I remember that,” Randle explained.
