This is blowing up in their faces SPECTACULARLY.
Oakland Athletics owner John Fisher thought this would be easy. He’d twiddle his fingers for a while in the Bay Area trying to get a new stadium, and if that didn’t materialize he’d bolt for Las Vegas with MLB’s blessing — getting richer in the process. Fisher’s assumption was that with the Raiders’ move, and the Golden Knights selling out their arena, it was going to be simple to get a boatload of taxpayer money to build a ballpark, with private investors falling over themselves to get a piece of the action.

Rio Gomez first home pitching appearance at the Triple A level started with a bang.
Gomez, a 36th-round pick out of Arizona by the Red Sox in 2017, is the son of longtime ESPN baseball reporter Pedro Gomez, who died of a heart attack on Feb. 7, 2021.
The younger Gomez has been working his way through Boston’s minor league system for the past six years, beginning this season at Double A Portland. He was called up to Triple A Worcester earlier this month and made his first start against the Louisville Bats on June 3.
Bijan Robinson is all the rage in the world of fantasy football. The eighth overall pick of the Falcons in the 2023 NFL draft, he’s already a locked-in first-round fantasy pick across the board. His best-ball average draft position at Underdog is 7.8, and he’s the second running back coming off the board behind just Christian McCaffrey.
All the hype dates back to his impressive collegiate career.
Robinson was sensational in his final two seasons at Texas, putting up a combined 2,707 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns. He also averaged nearly six yards per attempt.

In an appearance on ESPN’s First Take Friday, Perkins doubled down on the Heat to win it all and seemed awfully confident in his choice, saying he’s “not worried at all” despite the deficit Miami currently faces heading into Game 4.
“The Heat are going to win this series.

Reggie Bush is likely on his way out the door at Fox Sports due to a contract dispute with the network, according to the New York Post.
Bush had become a popular college football analyst on Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff during college football season. However, the disagreement between the network and the former Saints first-round pick dates back to the 2022 offseason.
Bush agreed to a one-year contract with the network to remain on the show before the ’22 campaign.
It isn’t the main event, but all eyes are on the lightweights at UFC 289.
Charles Oliveira returns to the cage in the 289 co-main, his first fight since dropping the lightweight title in unceremonious fashion to Islam Makhachev. Standing across from him will be Beneil Dariush, who is seeking to extend his winning streak to nine and finally earn himself a title shot.
The result should be an outstanding three rounds between two elite mixed martial artists. This is the final bout Dariush needs to win to secure a title shot, but Oliveira is a real threat.
