Oklahoma softball received waves of praise from around the sports world on Thursday after notching the program’s third consecutive national championship with a historic sweep in the Women’s College World Series.
Billie Jean King and noted OU alums Kyler Murray and Trae Young were among those who weighed in on the Sooners’ 3–1 win over Florida State to close out the WCWS. 
With the win, the Sooners and coach Patty Gasso made NCAA history by becoming the second team, and the first in over 30 years, to three-peat as national champions.

Oklahoma’s record-setting undefeated streak will continue into next season following Thursday’s Game 2 win over Florida State to secure the program’s third-straight national championship.
Winners of their last 52-straight games, the Sooners (61–1) defeated the Seminoles (58–11), 3–1, to sweep the Women’s College World Series. The victory extended OU’s 109-day winning streak to 53 games, and made OU the second program in NCAA history to three-peat as national champions, joining UCLA, who accomplished the feat from 1988 to ’90.

Despite squandering opportunities to recover from drug addiction, Bam continues to receive support.

Bass made headlines recently by having the unmitigated gall to even mildly criticize liberal ideology.
He shared an Instagram video discussing the Bible-based case to boycott Bud Light and Target for poorly thought out LGBTQ+ promotions.
For that thought crime, Bass was forced to issue a humiliating, hostage video style apology to the media.

Another Women’s College World College Series, another memorable defensive play for Oklahoma star Jayda Coleman.
The three-time All-American center fielder went all out to keep the defending champion Sooners even with Florida State on Thursday early in Game 2 of the WCWS.
With both teams scoreless in the bottom of the third inning, Seminoles junior Kalei Harding sent a hit into deep center field with runners on first and second. Harding’s shot appeared headed for the stands before it began losing steam with Coleman tracking the ball as it plummeted from the sunny sky.

Yankees play-by-play broadcaster Michael Kay made the most of a golden opportunity on Thursday to deliver a few fast food-inspired puns during Game 1 of the club’s doubleheader against the White Sox.
With New York trailing 6–5, a perfectly-timed showdown between White Sox first baseman Jake Burger and Yankees relief pitcher Michael King teed Kay up for a home run of a joke in the top of seventh inning. After noting that the players’ names on the scoreboard spelled out Burger King, Kay fired up a nod to the burger chain’s famous slogan following a Burger foul ball.

Ahead of the team’s Pride Weekend celebration, the Blue Jays are planning on having relief pitcher Anthony Bass as part of the festivities. Bass is set to catch the ceremonial first pitch before Friday’s game against the Twins, according to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson.
Last week, Bass came under scrutiny after sharing an anti-LGBTQ video on social media. After deleting the video, which urged viewers to boycott brands like Bud Light and Target for supporting LGBTQ causes, Bass spoke to the media and issued an apology for his actions, but did not field any questions.
