In the state of Missouri, a high school athlete who signs with an in-state college, such as the University of Missouri, can begin earning compensation for his or her name, image and likeness before enrolling at the school.
Soon in Texas, Texas A&M donors will earn priority points through the school’s fundraising arm for donations that eventually funnel to athletes. For months now in Arkansas, college athletes have been paid for charity appearances through a non-profit organization that is owned by the school’s fundraising foundation.

The Celtics found an unforgettable way to force a Game 7 against the Heat in the Eastern Conference finals. Boston then had one of the most forgettable performances at the worst time, and their season come to an end with an ugly 103–84 loss at home.
It was a stunningly bad performance for the Celtics, which Charles Barkley hilariously roasted them for during halftime. They didn’t put up a fight and never gave themselves a chance to win, even in front of a home crowd that wanted nothing more than to party their way back into the NBA Finals.
Many consider Nikola Jokic to be the best player in the NBA, while the vast majority of folks would agree he’s the best big man in the league. Those two things were never said about Dwight Howard at any point during his career, but don’t try to tell him that.
Howard recently joined FanDuel TV to discuss Jokic ahead of the Denver Nuggets’ appearance in the NBA Finals. Howard was asked by Chandler Parson who he would take, prime Howard or prime Jokic, and without hesitation he picked himself.
“Prime Dwight Howard all day.
The reigning World Series champion Astros are home dogs Tuesday night despite having a better record (31-22) than their opponent, the Twins (28-26).
I’ll play.
The Astros will face the Twins for the second of a three-game series tonight at Minute Maid Park. Despite losing 7-5 in 10 innings yesterday, the Houston has been looking frisky lately, including a go-ahead grand slam courtesy of Jose Altuve in yesterday’s loss and a seven home-run game on Sunday, which set a single-game home run record at the Oakland Coliseum.
The Astros are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Fernando Alonso’s quest for a 33rd F1 victory has become something of a rallying cry.
The Boston Celtics had a chance to make NBA history in Sunday night’s Game 7 against the Miami Heat. Instead, they came out flat and never really put up a fight at home and saw their season come to an end with a humiliating 103-84 loss that will sting for quite some time.
Jayson Tatum, who tweaked his ankle in the first minute of the game, finished with just 14 points. The Celtics as a team hit just 9-of-42 three pointers and could never string together enough made shots to really threaten the Heat.
Not only did the Miami Heat stun the Boston Celtics on the road in Game 7 to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals, but the team is also expected to welcome back Tyler Herro into the lineup as their wildly impressive run continues.
Herro broke his right hand in Game 1 of the Heat’s first-round upset over the Milwaukee Bucks. The former Kentucky guard hasn’t played a minute since the injury, but that could change sooner rather than later.
LeBron James just can’t help himself when it comes to staying in the spotlight.
James and the Lakers will watch the NBA Finals between the Heat and Nuggets from home after getting swept by Denver, but that hasn’t stopped him from staying in the news.
As soon as the Lakers were eliminated, the four-time champion hinted that retirement might be on the horizon. That immediately shifted attention from Denver’s incredible run to LeBron James’ future.
Well, he must have liked it because he just won’t let the topic die.
The Big 12 has every intention of continuing to grow.
Commissioner Brett Yormark has made it crystal clear that his goal is to grow the conference into a brand that covers a large chunk of the country, and BYU, UCF, Houston and Cincy will play their first action in the league starting this fall.
However, the Big 12 is far from done. In fact, the conference has made it known it’s gunning to raid the PAC-12.

Will the Big 12 continue to grow?
Expansion isn’t dead if that doesn’t happen.
Say goodbye to Boston’s comeback and hello to Miami’s come-up. Game 7 was the sport at its most heartbreaking and heartwarming, all at once.
