As most college students do after their school wins a national championship, some UConn students hit the streets following the Huskies’ win over San Diego State in April for the basketball championship. Some students went way overboard, however, and caused close to $123,000 worth of damage.
Some fans/students went as far as ripping lampposts out of the ground and scaling campus buildings, cars were flipped, and fires were started around Storrs. Police have charged 22 people in connection with the rioting, 16 of which were UConn students.

Alex Graham, a highly touted British hockey player has died at just 20-years-old, according to a statement from his team.
Graham played in the Elite Ice Hockey Hockey League, the top level of hockey in the United Kingdom.
On Monday, his team, the Sheffield Steelers announced that he had died over the weekend. The team did not reveal a cause of death.

The NCAA appears set to crack down on NIL violations for schools across the country after NCAA executive vice president of regulatory affairs Stan Wilcox sent a memo to schools on Tuesday stating that any school that violates NCAA rules, despite what its state laws allow, could be punished.
This memo comes after various states in the SEC footprint have or are planning to establish laws that allow student-athletes to receive NIL money through schools’ fundraising arms.

NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson’s in-laws and a nephew were found dead after a reported shooting in Oklahoma.
According to TMZ Sports, Muskogee Police say that Jack and Terry Janway — the parents of Johnson’s wife Chandra Janway — and 11-year-old Dalton Janway were found dead around 9 p.m. Monday at their home.
Before arriving on the scene, police received a 911 call from a woman. She reported that there was someone with a gun, but soon hung up the phone.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found a body laying in the hallway.

Alek Manoah has had a difficult start to the season, pitching to a 6.36 ERA in 13 starts this year. The starter was having such a tough time at the major league level that the Blue Jays sent him down to the Florida Complex League earlier this month.
After several weeks off, Manoah took the mound on Tuesday for the first time since getting demoted. However, instead of taking a step forward, Manoah struggled mightily against the Florida Complex League Yankees, allowing 11 runs on 10 hits and two home runs , getting pulled after just 2.2 innings pitched.

Keegan Bradley won the 2023 Travelers Championship on Sunday evening. For Bradley, it was a huge victory. He said he dreamed as a kid of winning this particular tournament. Not the U.S. Open. Not the Masters. The Travelers Championship. Because of that, CBS reporter Amanda Renner referred to him winning his “hometown event.”
The Travelers Championship is held in Cromwell, Connecticut. Not Hartford, as the broadcast often refers. I live in central Connecticut and attended the event on Friday. It’s a great event, honestly.

The Mavericks and Suns were rumored to be in trade talks around the NBA draft regarding a potential deal for Deandre Ayton. While talks have since cooled off, NBA insider Marc Stein reports that the possibility for those conversations to resume remains on the table.

Leonard Fournette dodged a potentially fatal incident on Tuesday, revealing that his car caught fire while he was driving on the highway. Thankfully, he said he is OK. 
The free agent running back shared the news by posting a video on his Instagram of his charred car parked on the side of the highway. The front of car is almost completely melted away and police officers can be seen in the background. It’s unclear where this happened or how the car caught fire at this time.
