UEFA, the governing body of European soccer, has leveled a hefty fine against a Serbian men’s team for faith-based fan choreography.
In a Europa League clash with Lille on Feb. 26, thousands of fans of national powerhouse Red Star Belgrade (often also referred to as “FK Crvena Zvezda“) worked together to form posters that depicted an Orthodox icon of Jesus. Additionally, there was a banner underneath that read “May our faith lead you to victory.”
While Lille won 2-0 (advancing on aggregate), the bigger loss came after the match.

Denny Hamlin is on the pole for the Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race on March 29 at Martinsville Speedway.
Hamlins’s lap of 19.275 seconds was 0.356 faster than William Byron, who joins Hamlin on the front row.
Hamlin’s pole came after a strong qualifying performance from Hendersonville’s Josh Berry, who was competing for his first pole. Berry finished third and will start in the second row with a qualifying time of 19.334 seconds.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Olivia Olson scored 19 points, fellow sophomore Syla Swords added 16 and No. 2 Michigan overcame a sluggish start for a 71-52 victory over Louisville in the Sweet 16 on Saturday.
The Wolverines had a 16-0 run in the second quarter to erase an 11-point deficit, their biggest, then broke a tie in the third quarter by scoring 17 consecutive points and cruising to their second Elite Eight, both in the past five seasons.
Michigan (28-6) tied a school record for victories and will play either top-seeded Texas or Kentucky on Monday night for a spot in the Final Four.
