The Nets are hiring former UConn head coach Kevin Ollie as an assistant coach, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Ollie joins the staff of Jacque Vaughn, who will enter his first full season as the Nets head coach after taking over for Steve Nash midseason last year.
Ollie is best-known for succeeding Jim Calhoun at UConn and leading the Huskies to a national championship in 2014 as a No. 7 seed. In six seasons, though, UConn missed the NCAA tournament four times under Ollie, and the school ultimately fired him in 2018.

Duke baseball’s MJ Metz blasted three home runs Friday as the Blue Devils took down UNC Wilmington, 12-3, during the team’s NCAA Regional opener.
Oh, and he did it with a torn ACL.

Metz injured his knee during an ACC Tournament game on May 23.
Although it was unclear if he would suit up Friday, the 23-year-old graduate student decided to give it a go.
“I thought that I could help the team and that’s all I was trying to do,” Metz said told the Fayetteville Observer.
To no surprise, the Cowboys are the most profitable team in the world.
