Dillon Brooks is in mid-season form, just five minutes into his preseason debut with the Houston Rockets. Brooks was ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers after hitting opposing center Daniel Theis in the groin.
It was a record time for Brooks, who saw his fair share of ejections and technical fouls last season with the Grizzlies.

The Rangers jumped out to a big lead early during Tuesday’s ALDS Game 3 against the Orioles, and Globe Life Field was going wild.
Adolis García unloaded a three-run home run in the second inning to make it a 6-0 game, sending Texas fans into an absolute frenzy.
García didn’t hold back while celebrating the home run, tossing his bat to the side with one hand before slowly beginning his trot around the bases and sticking his tongue out as he passed his teammates in the dugout.

It took Dillon Brooks less than five minutes to earn his first ejection as a member of the Rockets, and the regular season hasn’t even started yet. 
During the first quarter of Tuesday night’s preseason clash against the Pacers, Brooks was issued a flagrant two foul and was subsequently ejected after appearing to hit Daniel Theis in the midsection while fighting through a screen.
Theis fell to the floor after Brooks’s swipe. When he got up, he was heated and could be seen shouting at Houston’s forward.

Dillon Brooks is starting the 2023-2024 season on a new team, but he’s still up to his old tricks. The veteran wing signed a four-year, $80 million contract with the Houston Rockets over the offseason after the team that drafted and developed him, the Memphis Grizzlies, said he would not be brought back under any circumstances.
After landing a huge bag of cash in free agency, Brooks helped Canada to a bronze finish at the 2023 FIBA World Cup that punched his home country’s ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer proudly wore his faith around his neck on a massive stage.
Starting the game Tuesday, Kremer donned a Magen David (“Star of David”) pendant around his neck.
On the primetime mound, Kremer’s necklace highlighted his Jewish faith — born to Israeli parents — and made a strong declaration of support for Israel amid the violent siege by Hamas, the Iran-backed terrorist group.
The Israeli-American player — born in Stockton, Calif. — has family members in Israel who have been affected by Hamas’ plot.

Chicago’s Connor Bedard was a bit nervous prior to making his NHL debut against his childhood idol Sidney Crosby and the Penguins on Tuesday night at the United Center.
The No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, Bedard appeared to be sort of star-struck heading onto the ice. Cameras captured him forgetting his stick as he initially made his way out of the tunnel. 
The hockey phenom was shown frantically returning to the locker room to retrieve his stick.

October is here, and with it, MLB’s postseason tournament. This season marks year two of the league’s new wild-card format, meaning we now have more information on what it means for the postseason moving forward.
And even though there’s a few more games remaining in the division series matchups, it’s safe to say that we know enough to form some conclusions. Especially with regards to what MLB’s decisions mean for the value of the regular season.
In short, it’s solidified that the 162-game schedule is almost entirely irrelevant past 84-85 wins.
