In Week 1, the Denver Broncos faced the Las Vegas Raiders in Sean Payton’s head coaching debut with the team. The Broncos lost, 17-16. In the game, referees penalized Broncos safety Kareem Jackson for a helmet hit on Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. On Sunday, Jackson did it again, this time against Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas.
The hit on Meyers was vicious and knocked the wide receiver out of the game. Jackson gave Meyers a concussion, and the receiver missed the Raiders Week 2 loss at Buffalo.

Ex-Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom was involved in a one-vehicle car crash earlier this week.
The sober, former NBAer crashed his Mercedes-Benz into two parked cars in a residential area in Northridge, Calif. on Monday, according to TMZ Sports.

July’s presumptive Super Bowl favorites, the Bengals, are now 0–2. Following a never-close, Bald Bull–style knockout at the hands of the Browns in Week 1, the team crawled to a respectable 27–24 finish against the Ravens. Jackson, for a second week in a row, drew the ire of the officiating crew after unleashing a devastating hit on Commanders tight end Logan Thomas. Jackson’s hit came with 1:47 left in the first half, when the veteran DB launched into Thomas in mid-air as he extended for the ball in the end zone.

After getting demolished by the Cowboys in Week 1, 40-0, New York was held scoreless in the first half against the Cardinals in Week 2. Arizona jumped out to a 20-0 lead at halftime of Sunday’s game, meaning the Giants had been outscored 60-0 through their first six quarters of the campaign.

The Seahawks were unexpectedly punched in the mouth by the Rams in Week 1, leading to many overreactions about Geno Smith and Seattle’s talented offense.
Perhaps the Seahawks were feeling themselves a little too much in the season-opening loss after surprising many last year by making the postseason, and being declared by the football pundits as the winners of the Russell Wilson trade.
But what Smith and the Seahawks did offensively last year was no fluke, evident by their thrilling 37–31 road overtime victory against the Lions on Sunday.
