The Lakers survived the NBA play-in tournament, outlasting the Timberwolves, 108–102 in overtime Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
But the victory came with more anxiety than necessary for the hosts.
After trailing by as 15 points in the third quarter, the Lakers chipped away at Minnesota’s lead and finally tied the game with about two minutes left. When Dennis Schröder buried a three-pointer from the left corner with 1.4 seconds left in regulation to give Los Angeles a 98–95 lead, the game appeared to be all but over.

The Lakers earned a thrilling, come-from-behind 108–102 overtime win over the Timberwolves in Tuesday night’s Western Conference play-in game. The victory helped the iconic franchise make history after earning the No. 7 seed in the West, marking the first time in NBA history that all four teams from the state of California qualified for the playoffs in the same season.
Since the Kings moved to Sacramento in 1985, there has never been a postseason that featured all four California teams.

Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray is taking a victory lap and taunting ESPN after defeating the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
For Murray, the Hawks’ win was an underdog story in the play-in contest against the eighth-seeded Heat. ESPN analysts made their thoughts on the matchup crystal-clear as all 17 analysts picked Miami to win.
But Atlanta upset the naysayers, defeating the Heat, 116-105.
And Murray apparently kept receipts. After the game, the Hawks player re-posted ESPN’s picks and tweeted out, “Jokes On You [Motherf****s].”

After the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Miami Heat 116–105 in the play-in tournament game, Dejounte Murray made it clear he knew there were a lot of Hawks doubters leading up to the matchup for the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. 
Most talking heads didn’t gave the Hawks a fighting chance to pull off the upset. In addition to being 5.5-point road underdogs, all 17 ESPN analysts picked the Heat to win prior to the contest.
The slight by the entire panel did not go unnoticed by the 2022 All-Star, who retweeted the post displaying the erroneous picks by ESPN’s analysts.
