Imagine expecting an entire tournament to move to a different state just because you don’t like it there.
Washington Post writer John Feinstein says he is boycotting the NCAA Final Four because it’s in Texas. And he specifically asked them not to have it there!
After the Uvalde shooting in May 2022, Feinstein wrote a column urging the NCAA to pull its men’s and women’s Final Fours from the Lone Star State. That is, until it “fixes its gun laws.”
Well, they didn’t do that. The Men’s Final Four tips off in Houston on Saturday, and the women face off in Dallas tonight.

Sean McVay was miserable last season. Not unhappy. Not unfulfilled.
The Los Angeles Rams coach, used to winning his first five seasons in L.A., suffered a 5-12 season in 2022. He took the team to the Super Bowl twice and won it once and then had his first losing season. And none of that losing was fun.
“No it’s not,” McVay agreed.
The outward signs of that misery were obvious on McVay’s face on game days when things were going sideways. He looked like he simply didn’t want to be there.
“Yeah,” McVay said.
Major League Baseball and Commissioner Rob Manfred continue to roll out some of the biggest changes the sport has seen in decades.
Last season, the league got rid of the only noticeable difference between the American and National Leagues, by replacing pitchers with designated hitters in the NL.
Meanwhile this year it’s been a contentious debate amongst baseball purists and “new school” fans with an array of new rules and changes including the controversial pitch clock.
Major League Baseball kicked off its regular season on Thursday and not only did baseball return to our lives, but so did the ump cam, which showed us all to see how ridiculously hard it is to get a hit in the big leagues.
Not only are pitchers throwing all sorts of nasty stuff these days, they’re also just throwing some severe heat.
ESPN brought back the ump cam for the White Sox–Astros game on Thursday night and we all got see what it’s like to try to catch up to a fastball and how difficult it is to get a bat on a breaking ball.
Lionel Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June, and Barcelona is interested in a reunion with the soccer star.
Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste confirmed to ESPN on Friday that the club is looking into the possibility of re-signing Messi.
“I am still gutted he couldn’t continue here,” Yuste said. “Of course I would like him to come back, because of what he represents on a sporting, social and economic level. We are in contact with [Messi’s camp], yes. Beautiful stories should have happy endings, and there is mutual love between the two parties.
Despite the fact that most of free agency has come and gone, running back Joe Mixon’s status with the Bengals appears to be up in the air. The veteran has a cap hit over $12 million this year and is coming off a sub 1,000-yard rushing season.
Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn addressed Mixon at the NFL owners meetings, and while she praised his production, she didn’t appear to commit to the running back long-term.
“Right now, he’s on the team and we are gonna count on him until that wouldn’t be the case,” she said.
Pro wrestling’s biggest spectacle returns to Southern California as WrestleMania 39 takes place at SoFi Stadium this weekend.
The two-night event is being held Saturday and Sunday. It’s the first time WrestleMania has taken place in the Los Angeles area since 2005. Both nights of the show will stream live on Peacock starting at 8 p.m. ET.
While Night 2 has a clear main event in Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes, the picture for Night 1 is less certain. WWE has several options that could headline the show.
While fighting in the National Hockey League is in a decline, those who are good at it like Philadelphia Flyers forward Nicolas Deslauriers are trying to get their money’s worth.
And, boy, did he ever on Thursday night against the Ottawa Senators.
Deslauriers dropped the gloves with Ottawa’s Austin Watson for a pretty long, spirited bout.
Wow, TWO Nicolas Deslauriers fights and some jawing in the penalty box. pic.twitter.com/f9Mfb8ZkM7

That was a good one between two fellas who both had 11 fights going into this one.
Of all the matches that have taken place on WWE’s grandest stage of them all, few have been more personal than a battle on this year’s card between a father and son that’s been 20-plus years in the making.
After months of verbal and physical altercations, Rey Mysterio will face Dominik Mysterio for the first time on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium. The highly anticipated clash between the Mysterios in Los Angeles marks the second father-vs.
The Tampa Bay Rays have taken society’s “participation trophy” mindset to a whole new level, by celebrating the lowest form of mediocrity.
The 2022 Rays earned an American League Wild Card but then lost in two straight games to the Cleveland Guardians.
During Thursday’s season opener, the team unveiled its 2022 AL Wild Card banner for all Rays fans to cringe in unison over.
Honestly, I’m embarrassed for their fanbase.
The Rays just unveiled a 2022 Wild Card banner at the Trop…
In a series they were swept 2-0, scoring just one run. Make it make sense. pic.twitter.
