The linebacker penned a heartfelt goodbye to call it a career.
Longtime Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower announced his retirement Monday at 33 years old with a heartfelt letter.
“Today, I am officially retiring from the NFL,” he wrote in The Players Tribune. “I know these announcements always feel bittersweet, but I can’t think of a better story than the one I wrote in New England. A decade, three Super Bowls, two Pro Bowls, and the birth of my son — all playing for one franchise.

The Mavericks star appeared to snub his opponent on the court after Tuesday night’s game.
After video surfaced of him appearing to snub Dillon Brooks in a possible jersey swap at the end of Monday night’s game between the Mavericks and Grizzlies, Kyrie Irving offered up an explanation as to why he didn’t take the Memphis player’s uniform.
Following the Grizzlies’ 112–108 win, Brooks and Irving met on the court and exchanged a brief handshake and hug.
The legendary play-by-play announcer made one of his best calls yet.
No. 13 seed Furman’s electric late-game comeback to upset No. 4 seed Virginia has been one of the moments of the men’s NCAA tournament thus far.
Legendary play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan was on the call for truTV, as Virginia senior guard Kihei Clark was trapped in the corner on his own baseline and threw the ball away.
The turnover led to a game-winning three by Paladins star JP Pegues, who canned the open jumper with 2.2 seconds remaining.
You’d have an easier time getting people to agree on the Oscars than who should win this year’s honors.
If you think Nikola Jokić is the league MVP, you hate Joel Embiid.
If you’re Team Embiid, you’re dismissive of Jokić.
If you would cast your hypothetical ballot for Giannis Antetokounmpo, you think those who don’t should spend more time watching games up in Milwaukee.
With the NBA’s regular season winding down, so too is one of the most toxic MVP debates in memory. Fans and some research-averse talking heads are not just supportive of who they believe to be MVP.

Without Anthony Edwards and KAT, the Wolves still beat the Knicks despite 57 points from Julius Randle.
I haven’t had enough of a chance to tie March Madness talk into NBA talk this month, so on a night where four of the six winners were underdogs (at least by the standings), now’s the best time for me to say what seedings these upsets remind me of before we get into the nitty gritty.
Hornets over Pacers reminds me of No. 15 Princeton over No. 7 Missouri. Bulls over Sixers is more like No. 8 Arkansas beating No. 1 Kansas.
“Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs?”
Cam Newton is launching an attempt at an NFL comeback by returning to where it all began.
On Monday night Newton released a hype video announcing that he’ll be throwing at Auburn’s pro day on Tuesday, while raising a pretty good question.

Signing provides RB depth, but could hurt Dameon Pierce’s fantasy value.
The Houston Texans continue to add offensive pieces, signing Devin Singletary to a one-year deal. The move isn’t a great one from a fantasy standpoint, at least for Singletary and Dameon Pierce. While the latter will continue to lead the team in backfield touches, Singletary is good enough to pry some work away from him.
Singletary has never been a fantasy star, sans a late season stretch in 2021 when he averaged 20.9 points in four games including the fantasy postseason.
The 59-time Grand Slam champion was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast and throat cancers in November.
Just four months after being diagnosed with Stage 1 breast and throat cancers, tennis legend Martina Navratilova announced she is now cancer-free.
“As far as they know I’m cancer-free,” Navratilova said in an interview with TalkTV. “I still need to do the right breast probably with radiation but only for a couple of weeks and that’s more preventative than anything else.”
The radiation treatment should last about two weeks, Navratilova noted.
Rick Pitino and Ed Cooley have been tasked with reviving two dormant powers.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. It’s an off day for the NCAA tournaments, but there’s still plenty of college basketball news.

The WBC has done what in five seasons the Angels could not for Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, and we can’t wait to watch.
Even if it didn’t help grow the game worldwide, even if it didn’t give players a chance to represent their countries, even if it didn’t provide exciting baseball to break up the monotony of spring training, the World Baseball Classic would be worth it, because it has done this year what in five seasons the Angels could not: allow the two best players in the world to play games that matter.
