Many college football programs held their spring games this weekend, giving fans a glimpse at what teams will look like in the fall. For Virginia, though, the spring game was a much more emotional affair, especially for running back Mike Hollins.
Hollins, who was injured in November during a shooting that killed three Cavaliers players, got the first touch of the game.
Later in the game, Hollins scored a goal line touchdown and celebrated by putting the football on D’Sean Perry’s name in the back of the end zone. Perry, Lavel Davis Jr.

An NBA playoff series isn’t won or lost after Game 1 alone, but the Kings illustrated they aren’t going to be a pushover, even if they lack big-stage experience, in their dramatic 126–123 victory against Golden State on Saturday night.
It was Sacramento’s first playoff game since April 2006, a little more than a year before the first iPhone hit the market.

2023 NFL Draft prospect Devon Witherspoon was a dominant cornerback at Illinois
Illinois possessed the nation’s number one scoring defense in 2022, and the emergence of cornerback Devon Witherspoon was a big reason why. Earning an incredible 92.0 PFF grade, Witherspoon was dominant in coverage last season, allowing only 22 receptions despite being targeted 63 times. He allowed zero touchdowns the entire season, while also recording 3 interceptions and 14 passes defended.
Ohio State fans showed up in impressive fashion Saturday for the team’s spring game.
The Buckeyes are ushering a new era with C.J. Stroud gone for the NFL and Kyle McCord the presumed frontrunner to open the season as QB1 in Columbus. Well, fans showed up in force to get an early look at the 2023 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The game was attended by more than 75,000 fans, according to Dave Biddle, and it wasn’t free. Tickets ranged from $7 to $30.

De’Aaron Fox scored 38 points in his long-awaited playoff debut and the Kings defeated the defending champion Warriors, 126-123, on Saturday in Game 1 of their playoff series.
If Game 1 of the Boston-Atlanta series was a preview of what’s to come, then this one might already be over. Dominance was established early.
The NBA playoffs are officially underway in perhaps the best weekend of the season. Let’s get into what we learned.
The Big Takeaway
The Knicks’ defense may have been the most impressive unit of the day on Saturday. New York held the Cavaliers to a 102.1 offensive rating in its Game 1 win. In the regular season, the Cavs were eighth in the NBA with a 115.5 offensive rating. Outside of a big night from Donovan Mitchell, nobody else for Cleveland could sustain offense. Evan Mobley missed a bunch of shots in the paint.
Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox dropped 38 points on the Warriors in his playoff debut, leading Sacramento to its first postseason win since 2006.
Kings fans were treated to an epic victory in a close matchup against the reigning champions, and just after the dust settled, Fox joined team owner Vivek Ranadive at midcourt for the beloved tradition of lighting the beam.
It was an awesome moment for fans in Sacramento, who had been waiting to light the beam after a home playoff game since 2006.
The Sacramento Kings won their first playoff win since 2006, as Golden State’s Stephen Curry was unable to knock down the game-tying three-pointer as time expired. The Kings held on for a 126–123 victory, taking a 1–0 series edge in their first-round series against the defending NBA champions.
Curry, who scored a game-high 30 points, was able to get a clean look from the top of the arc, but his shot just rimmed off. Backcourt teammate Klay Thompson had a solid game scoring 21 points.
The Dolphins are adding another experienced wide receiver to the mix alongside Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, Miami has agreed to a contract with veteran receiver Chosen Anderson, formerly known as Robbie Anderson.
Anderson announced the decision via his Instagram story, writing “I’m coming home” and tagging the Dolphins’ account. The 29-year-old attended high school in Plantation, Fla., and seems eager for a fresh start in Miami.
The seven-year veteran spent last season with the Panthers and Cardinals.
