The potential first-round pick’s draft stock may be taking a hit.
Former Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter once was touted as a potential No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, but his stock has plummetted of late. 
In need of a strong showing at the UGA pro day Wednesday in order to regain some momentum heading into April’s draft, Carter reportedly had a dismal showing in Athens. 
According to ESPN, Carter weighed in as much as nine pounds heavier than his usual 314-pound frame at Georgia’s pro day, and also struggled with his fitness, appearing exhausted while on the field.

The Spanish giants eliminated Liverpool from Champions League for the third straight year, although it wasn’t as lopsided as a 6–2 aggregate might seem.
It was, in the end, straightforward enough for Real Madrid. The reigning European champion progressed to the quarterfinal of the Champions League with a 1–0 second leg win over Liverpool for a 6–2 aggregate win. It was perhaps a more open game than Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would have liked, but Liverpool never threatened the sort of surge that might have brought a comeback.

The veteran pass rusher spent the past two seasons in Cleveland.
The Browns released veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the NFL announced on Wednesday.
The move wasn’t a total surprise, as Clowney has reiterated over the past few months that he expected to be enter free agency. The three-time Pro Bowler played the last two seasons in Cleveland.
Clowney was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL draft by the Texans. He played there until 2019, earning Pro Bowl honors three times while in Houston.

Grand Canyon head basketball coach Bryce Drew and Baylor head basketball coach Scott Drew share the same last name. That is not a coincidence. They are brothers.
Scott, who has coached the Bears since 2003, is four years older than Bryce, who is in his fourth year with the Antelopes. Both schools will compete in March Madness this week, in the same region.
Grand Canyon is a No. 14 seed after beating Sam Houston State in the WAC Tournament, and Baylor is a No. 9 seed after going 22-10 during the 2022/23 season.

Traveling Eintracht Frankfurt fans wreaked havoc in the city center of Naples, Italy, when they clashed with local police before Wednesday’s Champions League game vs. Napoli.
Multiple vehicles, including a police car, were set on fire as fans attacked riot police with flares and chairs from local cafes before being sent back on buses to their hotels, according to The Associated Press.

In recent weeks, rumors have circulated that the NHL was looking to expand yet again. However, commissioner Gary Bettman says that isn’t the case.
He was asked about the expansion rumors at the league’s annual GM meetings in Florida. It seems that while it’s on their radar, it’s not a priority.
“We’re not in an expansion mode right now,” Bettman said. “There continues to be a number of people, entities, and cities expressing interest in having an NHL franchise where they don’t have one, places like Atlanta, like Houston, like Quebec City.

Los Angeles Clippers players were hit with an unexpected twist during their plane ride to Denver on Feb. 25.
Amid their flight to Mile High, traveling to play against the Nuggets, the Clippers’ charter plane was struck by lightning. The plane’s engine began shutting down. Players and other passengers panicked as the plane dipped in altitude several times due to the strike.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones released a team statement Wednesday explaining the rationale behind the franchise’s decision to part ways with running back Ezekiel Elliott.

A video surfaced showing Carson Briere shoving a wheelchair down a flight of stairs.
Following the release of a video that shows Mercyhurst University hockey player Carson Briere pushing a wheelchair down the stairs at a nearby Erie, Pa., establishment, the school released a statement Wednesday saying that it had opened up an investigation into the matter.
Briere, 23, is the son of former NHL player Daniel Briere, who is currently the interim general manager for the Flyers.
