The Japanese superstar put on a show in front of his home fans in Tokyo.
No player is likely to receive more attention in this year’s World Baseball Classic than Shohei Ohtani, especially in his native Japan. The two-way superstar last played in front of his home fans in 2017, and he has not disappointed thus far.
Ohtani showed off his pitching skills in Team Japan’s opener Thursday, allowing just one hit in four shutout innings in an 8-1 win over China. Now, he’s produced an offensive highlight to match.

The Houston Roughnecks of the XFL moved to 4-0 on the season with a dominant win over the Orlando Guardians on Saturday night. Their 44-point offensive onslaught was the highest single-team scoring total of the year thus far and it came with a tribute to the late Mike Leach.
Unlike the NFL, the XFL’s funky rules allow teams to throw more than one forward pass on the same play. If the first forward pass is caught behind the line of scrimmage, the player who caught that first pass can then turn around and throw a second forward pass.
It looks highly illegal, but it’s not.

The PAC-12 is clinging to life as commissioner George Kliavkoff continues to fail to land a new media. With every day that passes without a new deal, the Big 12 starts to look more and more tempting.
The fact Oregon and Washington also reportedly believe the Big Ten is waiting for them only complicates the situation.
It sounds like Lamar Jackson won’t have lots of offers thrown his way.
The Baltimore Ravens recently used the non-exclusive tag on Lamar Jackson. That means teams can still make him offers, but the Ravens reserve the right to match.
So far, there appears to be very limited interest around the league in the Ravens passer. ESPN reporter and NFL insider Jeremy Fowler doesn’t expect that to change in the near future.

Stephen Curry put on a vintage display late into the Warriors‘ comeback win over the Bucks on Saturday night. Scoring 22 points in the fourth period and overtime, including 20 of the Warriors’ last 25 points in regulation, the veteran sharpshooter practically carried his team to victory singlehandedly.
After the game, an exhausted Curry admitted he’s not as young as he used to be.
