The NBA is suspending Hawks guard Dejounte Murray one game for making contact with and verbally abusing a referee after Atlanta’s loss to the Celtics on Sunday in Game 4 of the teams’ first-round playoff series. Murray is expected to serve the suspension during Game 5 on Tuesday night.
Late on Sunday night, a video showing Murray appearing to bump into a referee while arguing went viral on social media. Following the game, the NBA announced it would look into the incident to decide whether the incident required a punishment.
In his first season with the Hawks, Murray averaged 20.

Weeks after parting ways with coach Stephen Silas, the Rockets have reportedly reached an agreement to hire former Celtics coach Ime Udoka, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Udoka, 45, was suspended by Boston for the entirety of the 2022–23 season after it was discovered he was having an inappropriate relationship with a female Celtics staffer. He was replaced in Boston by Joe Mazzulla, who took over the job on an interim basis before the start of the season and was named the team’s permanent coach in February.
The Jets are acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Packers for multiple draft picks, including a swap of first-round picks this year.
The Jets have their new leading man. Aaron Rodgers, sent over from the Packers in a blockbuster deal Monday, gives New York its best quarterback since Joe Namath was prowling Bachelors III and Toots Shor’s.
At 39 years old, Rodgers gives the Jets a short-term answer. He’ll likely be in New York for at least two seasons, hoping to be a championship mercenary. But it won’t be easy for the four-time league MVP, considering the depth of young AFC quarterbacks all vying for their place among the elite.
Isaac Wilson, little brother to Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, may be set out to blaze his own trail. Where each of his three older brothers played football at BYU, the youngest may choose to land on the other side of his home-state rivalry.
He seems keen on the idea of playing for his parents’ alma mater, Utah.
Wilson, a four-star quarterback prospect in the Class of 2024, has until February to decide on his future if he does not put pen to paper during the Early Signing Period in December. His offer sheet only continues to grow.
Days before the 2023 NFL draft, the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers got creative on Monday to finalize the trade that will send Aaron Rodgers to the Big Apple.
The Jets were adamant they weren’t trading their first-round pick in 2023 when their chase for Rodgers began in March. Well, they did just that.
“I felt it would be done all along but at the same time as long as it took there were certainly times where you’re kind of, ‘well, maybe it won’t and how are going to proceed going forward,’” Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said. “But, yeah, there were moments.
Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles signed quarterback Jalen Hurts to a record-breaking NFL contract. The team will pay Hurts an average of $51 million per season over five years, the highest per year value in the history of the league. On Monday, Hurts thanked his agent Nicole Lynn for negotiating the deal.
And he did so in a very “as the kids would say” kind of way.
“It means the world. Not only to set a precedent for what could be done but to acknowledge that women can do it too,” Hurts said according to ESPN.
Much like Christopher Meloni or Jason Statham, Jets fans have made a wonderful living playing the same character for decades.
Arsenal‘s travel plans to return back to London were postponed after its airplane caught fire before takeoff on Sunday.
The players were reportedly on board when the plane’s left wing caught on fire on the runway at Braunschweig Wolfsburg Airport. Arsenal’s women’s squad, which was flying home after the team’s Champions League clash against VfL Wolfsburg, evacuated the plane and rescheduled a return trip for Monday.
According to The Guardian, the fire was caused by a bird flying into one of the Boeing 737 aircraft’s engines.
Trade details: Packers send quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 2023 first- and fifth-round choices (Nos. 15 and 170) to Jets for a ’23 first-, second- and sixth-round picks (Nos. 13, 42 and 207) from the Jets. A conditional 2024 second-round pick becomes a first-round selection if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays.
Jets grade: C
Packers grade: A-minus
For the Jets, this was a necessary-but-costly move. New York started 7–4 last season before losing six consecutive games to close the season out, largely because its quarterbacks were Mike White, Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco.
