In the midst of preparing for an anticipated NFL return, Odell Beckham Jr. took a moment on Saturday to share a message of gratitude towards the person he claimed changed his life forever: Rams coach Sean McVay.
The Ravens receiver thanked McVay, his coach for part of the 2021 season, and touted his strong influence on Twitter, saying the Rams coach “single handedly changed my life.” Beckham, who played a key role in the Rams’ eventual Super Bowl LVI triumph, shared his message in response to a clip of McVay praising him while reflecting on their time in L.A.

Michael Jordan’s sale of the Hornets has left him with a bit more time on his hands. Apparently, he’s using some of that newfound freedom to become more invested in his NASCAR team.
According to racing legend Denny Hamlin, who is a co-partner and the current driver for the Michael Jordan-Denny Hamlin NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, the 60-year-old has become increasingly involved following the sale of the NBA franchise.
“Certainly, he’s involved in more meetings. Now he wants to be on every branding e-mail. I’m like, ‘Oh boy, this could be interesting.

The Boston Red Sox showed a little too much hustle on the base paths and it wound up costing them the game on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
In the bottom of the 9th inning, the Red Sox found themselves down by 1 to the Blue Jays, with the score sitting at 5-4.
Catcher Connor Wong was at the plate with 1 out and runners on first and second hoping to put an end to this game. Wong swung at the 1-0 pitch from Erik Swanson and got just about all of it, blasting it to deep left-center field.

NEW YORK — Mallory Swanson isn’t supposed to be here, and as recently as a few weeks ago, she thought she wouldn’t be. Immediately after she tore her left patellar tendon in an April friendly against Ireland, she told herself she would find a way to defy expectations. Recovery from an injury like hers generally takes about six months. The Women’s World Cup started in three.
“I was like, I’m gonna be there,” she says. “Like, I might not be 90 minutes fit, but I’m gonna be there.”
It took until late June for her to hear what her body had been telling her: No.
A dubious baserunning blunder cost the Red Sox dearly on Saturday as the club squandered a tight matchup against the Blue Jays in heartbreaking fashion at Fenway Park.
With Toronto leading, 5–4, with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Red Sox catcher Connor Wong crushed a ball toward the Green Monster. Wong’s hit initially appeared headed for the stands for a walk-off home run, but fell near the base of the wall as the ball found its way into the Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier’s glove following a leaping catch for the out.
NFL teams are not often not fans of preseason games due to the potential for star players to suffer injuries in meaningless action.
In recent years, clubs often sit their starters until the final exhibition game or opt against dressing them for the entire preseason. It’s surprising when a coach states that he is going to play his starters prior to the regular season. It’s even more perplexing to hear that an elite quarterback, among others, will suit up in the opening preseason game.
Well, Broncos fans, buckle up.

Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo was placed on the 10-day IL on Thursday due to post-concussion syndrome stemming from a head injury he sustained in May.
Speaking with The Athletic, Rizzo discussed the organization’s handling of his head injury, indicating that he “loved the way they handled it” and stating that he doesn’t feel anyone “missed” a proper diagnosis of his concussion.
“I don’t think anyone missed it, honestly,” Rizzo said. “We did the test. I passed the concussion test. I sat out for four days, played, felt fine and didn’t feel anything.
