A few days after Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson limped off the field during Thursday’s training camp, New York coach Robert Saleh confirmed that the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year suffered a low ankle sprain. He also noted Wilson would only miss a few more days of practice.
Saleh did not specify Wilson’s return timeline. The wide receiver is set to miss Thursday night’s Hall of Fame game against the Browns. The team’s next preseason game is on Aug. 12 vs. the Panthers, but Saleh did not mention if Wilson would be ready.

Washington Commanders radio partner WBIG-FM fired host Don Geronimo for comments he made toward a female reporter at Training Camp.
During Thursday morning’s episode of The Don Geronimo Show, the host referred to WUSA-TV sports anchor Sharla McBride as “Barbie girl.” Geronimo told co-host Crash Young, “I’m guessing she’s a cheerleader” and later referred to her as “that chick.”
There was also a reference to something being “tight,” but no one is quite sure what that was in reference to.

Some real AFC beef is brewing
At this rate, the Week 5 tilt between the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets might just be the game of the year
Or at least the most-anticipated matchup.
The reason? A brewing war of words between the two AFC teams, with the latest salvo coming from none other than new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The beef was set in motion by Broncos head coach Sean Payton, who last week blasted his new team’s performance a year ago under former head coach Nathaniel Hackett.
When Trae Young saw who Julius Erving had in his all-time top 10 list, he disagreed so much so that he thought it was fake. Young took to Twitter and commented on a tweet that listed out who Erving named and he couldn’t believe it.
“This gotta be fake.. #WithAllDueRespect,” Young wrote on Twitter.
The 76ers legend listed Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone and Tiny Archibald in no particular order.

Justin Thomas is one of us. The Senior Open Championship is giving golf fans so much carnage that no one is under par.
Justin Thomas may have missed the cut at the 3M Open, but it gave him a chance to enjoy the Senior Open Championship at Royal Porthcawl in Wales.
Saturday’s third round brought about terrible conditions.
In response to Sean Payton’s criticism of the 2022 Broncos, when the head coach said that Nathanial Hackett was responsible for “one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL” last season with Denver, Aaron Rodgers fiercely defended the Jets offensive coordinator.
In an interview with NFL Network’s Peter Schrager, Rodgers addressed Payton’s decision to criticize Hackett.
“Those comments were very surprising, for a coach to do that to another coach,” Rodgers said.

The 48-year-old head coach of Ole Miss is frustrated with the system. He is not the only one, but few — if any — coaches are willing to speak up and call things how they are.

The Cubs reportedly have made the decision to not explore the trade market with Cody Bellinger as they told other teams the outfielder will not be dealt, according to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers.
Bellinger, who signed a one-year contract with the Cubs ahead of the 2023 season, was set to become a free agent and believe to be on the trade block ahead of the Aug. 1 MLB deadline. Many analysts thought the Cubs would trade one of their new stars away, but it doesn’t sound like they plan to do that now.
