Jon Jones is making his coveted return to the octagon on Saturday night, slated for the headlining heavyweight bout against Cyril Gane on the main card at UFC 285. Ahead of the showdown, Jones received some words of encouragement from Tom Brady.
The recently retired NFL quarterback congratulated “Bones” on his return to action ahead of his fight against Gane.

Former NBA player Anthony Morrow is now facing kidnapping and strangulation charges after being arrested last month in Charlotte.
On February 10, police in Charlotte, North Carolina arrested Morrow. The 37-year-old allegedly assaulted a woman who he was reportedly dating at the time. According to court documents, Morrow was alleged to have “[struck] her multiple times with his fists” and “[squeezed] her neck with his hands.”

Long live the beer snake!
The staple in the stands of home games for the XFL’s D.C. Defenders, created by hundreds of empty beer cups by fans, will still be allowed at Audi Field, the team announced on Saturday.
“For the safety of all fans, the beer snake will be permitted in Sections 136 and 137 contingent on fans following the game day code of conduct,” the team statement read.
A transgender athlete was discriminated against by US Powerlifting, according to a judge.
Unsurprisingly, the powerlifter was not a biological female who competed in men’s events.
US Powerlifting had banned JayCee Cooper, a biological male, from competing against women in lifting events.
But Cooper won the lawsuit, which claimed it was discriminatory to not allow transgender competitors with significant biological advantages to compete against women.
The former No. 2 pick is looking to keep his NFL career alive after getting released by the Commanders.
Carson Wentz and the Commanders went their separate ways this offseason, leaving some uncertainty surrounding the veteran quarterback’s future in the NFL. With a starting job unlikely in 2023, there had been some speculation as to whether Wentz would be open to playing as a backup next season.
According to Ian Rapoport, the 30-year-old is present in Indianapolis with the NFL combine in town.
