No. 1 Purdue suffered one of the worst losses in college basketball history on Friday night, falling in the first round of the men’s NCAA tournament to No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson 63–58. The Boilermakers became just the second No. 1 seed in the history of the event to lose to a 16-seed.
After the game, someone in the Boilermakers locker room appears to have taken out their frustration on the whiteboard, a photo tweeted by WISH-TV sports anchor Angela Moryan shows.

The Cyclones scored just 41 points in their loss.
On Friday, No. 6 Iowa State put up one of the worst offensive performances of the men’s NCAA tournament, scoring just 41 points in a 59–41 loss to No. 11 Pittsburgh. The Cyclones only scored two points in the first ten minutes of the game and shot 23.3% from the field, including 9.5% from three-point range.
Before the game, Iowa State needed to get its rim fixed for shootaround, as the basket was initially crooked. That took away the Cyclones’ ability to warm up, which might have led to such a slow start.

The legendary point guard-turned-Memphis coach was not happy as his team lost in controversial fashion.
Friday night’s men’s NCAA tournament brought some serious stunners. While No. 1 Purdue’s loss to No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson was the headliner, No. 8 Memphis failed to take advantage of an open pathway to the Sweet 16, falling apart down the stretch in a dramatic 66–65 loss to No. 9 Florida Atlantic.
The finish was not without controversy, as the officials did not award Memphis a timeout after the Tigers appeared to recover a loose ball with 5.

Penny Hardaway was in a bad mood after FAU beat Memphis in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Owls pulled off an incredible final possession to beat the Tigers, but it wasn’t without controversy. The possession was only able to happen after a jump ball gave possession to FAU.
It definitely looked like it could have been a timeout for Memphis. Instead, the ball went back to the Owls, and FAU hit a 66-65 game winner.

Williams balled out last year. The talented running back rushed for a league-high 17 touchdowns and 1,066 yards. He had an incredible season.
Ultimately, he opted to sign with the Saints for up to $12 million over three years. That’s a number Detroit apparently had no interest in entertaining, and Williams publicly flamed the team’s “disrespectful” offer.
