The Celtics, a young and wildly talented team coached by a young, relatively inexperienced head coach, at times looked like a club playing without its foot on the pedal this past season.
The criticism came up to begin this last campaign, when Boston jumped out to a hot start on offense, but initially looked bad defensively. It returned in the playoffs when the Celtics struggled to put away the Hawks before nearly being eliminated by the Sixers in the conference semifinals.

The Twins are signing former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel to a minor league deal, according to a report from baseball insider Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The 35-year-old has fallen out of favor with teams across the league over the last two seasons, as he’s been a shell of his former self. After a strong 2020 with the White Sox in which he went 6–2 with a 1.99 ERA in 11 starts during the COVID-19-shortened season, his fastball struggled in consistency.
Over 222 and two-thirds innings pitched since 2021 with Chicago, the Diamondbacks and the Rangers, he has accumulated a 6.

The day is finally here. French phenom Victor Wembanyama is expected to be the first player selected in Thursday’s 2023 NBA draft, and fans can’t get enough of him. Much has been made of his incredible ball handling and shooting at his enormous size, but a lot of fans are’t 100% sure what his measurements actually are.
Wembanyama did not attend the NBA combine, so nothing is official. But starting with his reach, the 19-year-old has an absurd eight-foot wingspan, according to ESPN. What’s even more hard to believe is he’s still growing.

The Lakers enter the 2023 NBA offseason with multiple potential approaches on the table. Unfortunately, for those hoping to see a “splash” trade or top-tier signing from the Lakers, that outcome appears to be unlikely.
Although names like Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving and Trae Young are appealing as potential fits, adding any of the three would make life miserable for the Lakers in terms of building out the rest of the roster.

Bo Naylor waited 263 days for the moment he finally earned on Wednesday night.
Well, he’d probably been waiting 23 years to pick up his first major league hit—which he did with an eighth-inning single against the A’s—but the wait had to have been even more excruciating for the Guardians rookie after he failed to pick up a hit in five games after making his big league debut last October.
Naylor went hitless in his first three games this season, too, before finally coming through with a clutch knock against Oakland on Wednesday.

Hours after honoring Marcus Smart, the Celtics traded him to Memphis
Social media teams for sports franchises work year-round to keep fans engaged, and that work continues into the off-season.
Sometimes, however, that can create an awkward situation.
That was the case with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. Early in the day, the team shared a tribute to guard Marcus Smart, highlighting his hustle, intensity, and prowess on both ends of the court:

“I go out there and leave everything I have on the floor.
