BOSTON — It was Celtics 112, Hawks 99 on Saturday.
Are you ready for three more?
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals wasn’t a playoff game. It was a playoff beating. Boston led by ten points after one quarter. They led by 30 at the half. Atlanta’s three-point percentage through two quarters: 6.3%. Sure, the Hawks closed to 19 at the end of the third and at one point they whittled the lead down to 12 in the fourth. Big deal. All that did was prevent Luke Kornet from picking up a few postseason minutes.

With the NFL draft looming, old clips of draft takes that didn’t age well are making the rounds online. Among those to resurface is video of Skip Bayless debating Merril Hoge during an episode of ESPN’s First Take, during which Hoge correctly predicted Johnny Manziel would be a franchise-altering bust.
Bayless, massively in Manziel’s corner back in 2014, was appalled by Hoge’s stance, clapping back at the fellow ESPN analyst.
After Hoge labeled Manziel as a player with a “fifth- or sixth-round grade,” Bayless came to the former Texas A&M QB’s defense.

Steve Sarkisian wanted to put any kind of talk about the starting quarterback competition to bed on Saturday afternoon. No matter what happens from now until the season opener, Quinn Ewers is the guy to lead Texas. Sure, it was nice to see Arch Manning take the field, but he also has competition for the backup role.
The magical aurora around Arch Manning was evident when he took the field to a standing ovation from the Longhorn crowd. Texas fans understand that the future looks bright at the quarterback position, but right now it’s Quinn Ewers time to shine.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli was not happy with New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German during Saturday’s game.
The Yankees won easily, riding a dominant start from German to a 6-1 win.
But that wasn’t what made Baldelli so upset.
German began the game with three perfect innings, receiving substance checks along the way, as usual.
What wasn’t so usual is that he was clearly instructed to wash his hands after the end of the third inning. After the fourth inning though, the situation escalated a bit more.
