In what would qualify as a shocker to absolutely nobody, the NFL’s Pro Bowl skills competition’s ratings are in, and they stink.
The NFL has tried repurposing, reimagining, reinventing – whatever word choice you want to use, the annual Pro Bowl after coming to the realization that nobody, including the players themselves, actually cared about it.
So this year, they decided to nix the entire Pro Bowl Game… and turn it into the Pro Bowl Games. A collection of various events all culminating in a flag football game.

The point guard requested a trade from the Nets on Friday.
The potential top landing spot for Kyrie Irving following the point guard’s trade request is the Lakers, as Los Angeles has expressed interest in Irving dating back to the Summer. However, the team’s interest may be just for this season.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports the Lakers are hesitant to give Irving a long-term contract along with a possible trade.

Want a piece of NFL history? Be prepared to open up your wallet.
Tom Brady announced his retirement from football for the second time on Wednesday, revealing that he plans to hang up his jersey “for good” after a decorated 23-year career. This time around, the seven-time Super Bowl champion did so with much less fanfare, simply posting a video of himself at the beach, where he made a brief statement.
However, given that Brady will leave the NFL widely recognized as the greatest player in history, retiring “normally” is basically out of the question.
The wide receiver played in four games for Buffalo including the playoffs.
After a brief stint with the Buccaneers, Cole Beasley retired from the NFL believing that his career ran its course. However, he came out of retirement at the end of the season to re-join the Bills for Buffalo’s playoff run.
Despite coming up short, Beasley added an element to the Bills passing offense that they didn’t have when they lost Beasley in free agency. That late season jolt has Beasley believing he can still contribute in the league.

Just over a year ago, LSU named their court after Brown, who is the most decorated men’s hoops coach in school history. Brown led the Tigers to a pair of Final Four appearances and won 448 games.
Now, according to Louisiana’s WAFB News, LSU’s Board of Supervisors will vote next week to potentially add Gunter’s name to the court.
The school announced that it planned to deal with the situation internally on Friday.

An Eastern Illinois men’s basketball player will be disciplined “internally” after attempting to hit a fan during a game on Thursday, the school said in a statement Friday.
In the first half of the Panthers’ 80–67 loss to Lindenwood, star guard Kinyon Hodges walked away from the play to a fan sitting in the front row at Hyland Arena and swung at him.
Even Stephen A. Smith can’t help Kyrie Irving from himself anymore.
“Idiotic,” the ESPN First Take host told NBA Today. “He can not be trusted, and he just reminded the basketball world of that.”
“All it [Irving’s request] did was serve to remind everybody out there that he’s spectacular, we’d love to have him in our uniform, so long as we don’t have to make a long-term investment in him because he can not be trusted.”
“Idiotic… He cannot be trusted. He just reminded the basketball world of that.”
