The USWNT vibes are off, and former players are not happy
The US Women’s National Soccer team is headed to the Round of 16, but the general vibes are relatively low. Following a dispiriting 0-0 draw against Portugal (they advanced with a draw, but it wasn’t fun nor good vibes all around), the current USWNT drew the ire of USWNT legends who were on commentary during the game. Former USWNT player Carli Lloyd spoke about the team after the game, and was visibly frustrated.

Lions coach Dan Campbell has revealed that his idea to have a pet lion on Detroit’s sideline during a game did not go over well with the league office.
Appearing on Pardon My Take, Campbell explained that Lions principal owner Sheila Ford had no issue with Campbell’s desire to have the terrifying animal become a mascot of sorts, but the league was not down.
“Sheila had no problem with it,” Campbell said on the podcast, “but the league apparently frowns on those types of things.
Raiders coach Josh McDaniels provided an assist after he pointed at the field behind me while discussing his new starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo.
“You can see him here,” McDaniels says, as he shows me Garoppolo throwing passes to his receivers after Monday’s practice. “He’s still out here. He’s still throwing, guys are still working with him and that’s an important part this time of the year.

The Baltimore Orioles are in a fascinating position as the deadline approaches
When you walk through the concourse at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, numbers are everywhere. USWNT coach Vlatko Andonovski isn’t pumped about Carli Lloyd criticizing his squad.
The women’s national soccer team battled Portugal to a 0-0 draw Tuesday, and it was just good enough to advance out of the group stage.
While the team is advancing, it was certainly a pathetic performance that drew serious criticism, including the postgame conduct.
However, Lloyd also had a problem with what she felt was a lack of passion.

Josh McDaniels may be entering his second year as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, but this season is very much a new beginning for the franchise with Jimmy Garoppolo taking over for nine-year starter Derek Carr under center.
While Garoppolo has taken exactly zero meaningful snaps for the Raiders at this point of his tenure, he’s clearly been doing all the right things during workouts and camp to win over his new teammates.
Las Vegas wide receiver Hunter Renfrow hit all the buzzwords and catch phrases when talking about his new quarterback.
“He’s steady. He’s consistent.

Angel Hernandez picked up right where he left off in 2023. Water is wet.
America’s least favorite umpire, who is among the worst in baseball, made his return to the MLB on Monday night and immediately blew an easy call. Because of course he did.

An uneasy sigh of relief
Let’s start with the good news: The U.S. women’s national team advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup this morning.
USWNT coach Vlatko Andonovski hit back at criticism from former player Carli Lloyd, calling it “insane” to doubt the players’ drive to win after a 0-0 draw to Portugal in the Women’s World Cup on Tuesday.
