Rory McIlroy is paying homage to the Beatles this week through his shoes. He is donning a artsy pair of Nike’s for the Open Championship.
Rory McIlroy is heading into the Open Championship week with a victory at the Scottish Open. He is also turning heads with his new custom Nikes Victory Tour 3 NRGs inspired by the Beatles, per HypeBeast.
What a great time to pull these out since the Beatles formed in Liverpool.
The “Play to Live” on one side and “Live to Play” on the other with the Nike swoosh is a nice touch.

Playing Through will assess the playoff race each week leading up to the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs, which begin Aug. 10 in Memphis.
The Open Championship is now upon us, as the best golfers in the world will battle for the Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool this week.
Although Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is only 23 years old, she is one of the greatest 400-meter hurdlers in track and field history. She may already be the greatest 400-meter hurdler of all-time.
McLaughlin-Levrone, who is the reigning world champion and Olympic gold medalist in the discipline, holds six of the seven fastest times in the event. She consistently leaves her competition in the dust. Nobody can touch her!

Smith became the 2022 Champion Golfer of the Year at St. Andrews. He believes he can win the Claret Jug again this year at Royal Liverpool.
Cameron Smith wants to win The Open Championship again.
Badly.
“I just had to hand back the trophy. I thought I was going to do all right, but I was actually holding back tears,” Smith said Monday. “But it was just a bit of a moment that I guess you don’t think about and then all of a sudden it’s there, and, yeah, I want it back.”

Fresh off his win at the Scottish Open, Rory McIlroy was slated to speak to the media ahead of The Open Championsip but decided against it.
The R&A announced Monday that Rory McIlroy had canceled his pre-tournament press conference ahead of The Open Championship.
Yet, McIlroy took a minute to speak with Sky Sports, as he revealed he needed “to re-set” before play starts Thursday at Royal Liverpool.
With the deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term extensions now passed, the real bummer here is that a trio of running backs—Tony Pollard, Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs—have no more levers left to pull. There is a bit of finality to the fact that all three will be forced to play under the franchise tag this season (“forced” being the kind of word we should be considerate of, so as not to confuse the plight of the NFL’s most marginalized position with someone struggling to meet the bare necessities).
Cleveland Cavaliers fans are bullish on rookie forward Emoni Bates, who’s been a total standout in NBA Summer League thus far.
The one hiccup from Bates that draws skepticism around the league is his recent comment on which NBA veterans are guiding him in his transition to the NBA.
Two of the names Bates mentioned raised a ton of eyebrows.
The Eastern Michigan product (who played a short stint with the Memphis Tigers) spoke with the media on Monday.
The Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament will run like the men’s NIT, and feature 32 teams that just missed the NCAA tournament.
What is a catch? A question that is often asked in reference to football has officially made its way over to the baseball diamond.
The controversy arose during a Triple-A baseball game between the Oklahoma City Dodgers and Sacramento River Cats on Sunday afternoon. Dodgers No. 30 prospect Devin Mann was at the plate.
Mann, a 26-year-old first baseman, hit a fly ball deep to the gap in right centerfield. River Cats center fielder Bryce Johnson got on his horse and tracked down the fly ball without issue.
NASHVILLE — I do not understand the mindset of Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher still trying to play coy about who will call plays on offense. He hired Bobby Petrino to be offensive coordinator for a reason, so why aren’t we getting a solid answer? Fisher is not hiding nuclear launch codes.
Once again, we find ourselves trying to interpret the wording from Jimbo Fisher in regards to the play calling on offense.
“I’m not going to get into that. Bobby was hired for a reason,” Fisher said at SEC Media Days. “Tremendous guy, tremendous football mind.
