Pouncey signed a one-day contract on Thursday to retire a Dolphin, and looked a bit different than he did in his playing days.
During his time USC’s interim head coach in 2013, Ed Orgeron once remarked on the psyche of his offensive linemen as it relates to the team’s snack offerings: “Feed a lineman a cookie, he’s happy.” It appears that former Pro Bowl lineman Mike Pouncey embodied that sentiment.

It has served as the home venue for the Orioles since 1992.
The Orioles have been taking the naming rights to Camden Yards to market this year, according to a report from Terry Lefton of Sports Business Journal.
The nameplate for Camden Yards will reportedly apply to the field only, not Camden Yards in its entirety. Lefton notes in the report that this has been done frequently in the NFL, with Empower Field at Mile High in Denver and GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City being the two notable examples.
John Ruiz wants to be very clear that he is not a booster by NCAA definition. That notion will be very important should he choose to take legal action against the college sports governing body, as he is threatening to do.
Ruiz, an NIL sponsor for the University of Miami, bankrolls a large number of athletes on multiple teams through his companies LifeWallet and Cigarette Racing. The billionaire businessman set aside more than $10 million in funds for NIL deals alone and focuses most of his attention on the Hurricanes.
Among the athletes that are on his payroll are Haley and Hanna Cavinder.

Patrick Ewing hasn’t played for Georgetown in more than 40 years, but doesn’t mean he’s not still the Hoya Destroya.
Not that that’s a good thing.
This time around, the four-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year is wrecking Georgetown, instead of its opponents.
In an unintended effort to revive his legendary nickname in the worst way possible, the GU alum has destroyed a once-great program since taking over as Hoyas head coach in 2017. The destruction culminated with last night’s 32-point loss to Villanova in the first round of the Big East tournament.
The announcing legend explained his decision in an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated.
Legendary college basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale has never called an NCAA tournament game for a U.S. audience in his career. CBS and Turner tried to change that this season, but he declined the offer.
Vitale told Sports Illustrated that CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus recently reached out to the analyst and asked him to call one or two NCAA tournament games this season, but, according to Vitale, he passed on the offer out of loyalty to ESPN.
The NHL’s Ottawa Senators are officially for sale and, believe it or not, they could bring in the biggest transaction in NHL history.
According to Sportico, the Senators have received 9 offers, some of them over $900 million. An unnamed source told them that the pool of prospective owners will be narrowed down, and site visits will happen later this month.
Easily the most notable name on the list of prospective is Ryan Reynolds who is part of a consortium to buy the team with Toronto-based real estate developer The Remington Group.
Mavericks fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
The results of the MRI on Luka Dončić’s injured thigh came back clean, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, clearing the way for the Mavericks star to return to the court as soon as he is comfortable enough to do so.
Dončić exited Wednesday night’s game against the Pelicans in the second half with what Dallas described as a left thigh strain. ESPN’s Andrew Lopez asked Dončić how he felt after the game to which the 24-year-old responded “not good.
Lots of Americans would prefer to watch March Madness than sit at a desk and work.
Selection Sunday is this Sunday and by next week, we’ll have the NCAA Tournament underway and rolling. It’s truly the best time of year.
For the next several weeks, people around the country will be greasing up our hands with chicken wings and plenty of cold beers. Unfortunately for many people, you don’t get paid to watch sports. That’s not a problem we have here at OutKick, but for people who do face that issue, time off is a card they like to throw.
People love skipping work for March Madness.
The Crimson Tide football coach outlined what it would take for him to leave the sidelines at Alabama.
Alabama football coach Nick Saban does not have plans to retire from college football any time soon.
Saban, who will turn 72 in October, knows that he will not be the Crimson Tide’s football coach forever. However, while he is still making a “positive contribution” to the program, he plans to continue doing what he loves in keeping the program as the standard of college football.
“I love trying to build a team with a group of people,” Saban told ESPN’s Stephen A.
