Philadelphia’s offense ranked third in the NFL in points and yards under Steichen in 2022.
The Colts named Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen as their new coach on Tuesday morning. The team made the announcement on social media.
ESPN reported Sunday that Indianapolis had targeted Steichen for the job, and now it appears he will get his first crack at being a head coach in the NFL. He started his coaching career in the collegiate ranks at Louisville prior to holding several assistant positions in the pros.

Philadelphia may have lost Sunday’s Super Bowl, but at least one Eagle is still smiling.
Former Eagle, that is.
Chris Maragos, who played safety for Philadelphia, was rewarded $43.5 million on Monday as part of a medical negligence case.
The ex-Eagles captain sued Dr. James Bradley and Rothman Orthopaedics Institute and walked away a winner. Dr. Bradley performed surgery and oversaw the rehab (along with Rothman Orthopaedics) related to a PCL injury Maragos suffered during the 2017 season.

Damar Hamlin was recognized at Super Bowl LVII alongside the medical staff that helped save his life following his on-field collapse earlier this season. The Buffalo Bills’ safety wore a blue letterman jacket to the game, one that former NFL running back Adrian Peterson did not appreciate.
The jacket had an apparent image of Jesus Christ with a message on the front that read “Without end or beginning there is no day and there is no night.” On the back of the jacket, there was the word “Eternal” with an image of Jesus on the cross.
