Manchester City forward Erling Haaland tied the Premier League record for the most single-season goals with his 34th coming during Sunday’s match vs. Fulham.
Haaland scored the record-tying goal in the third minute, a goal that helped Manchester City win 2–1. Haaland now holds the record with Alan Shearer (1994–95) and Andy Cole (1993–94), who also scored 34 goals in a single season. The win put Manchester City atop the Premier League standings.
It’s likely that Haaland will break the three-decade-long record this season as Manchester City still has six matches left to go.

How many dumb things have to happen before these kids stop going live on Instagram?
Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett made a racial slur while livestreaming the NFL Draft on Thursday night.
As Shane Gifford — a young Asian-American from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City — took the podium to announce the Atlanta Falcons’ pick, Jarrett made an insensitive comment about the boy.
“Jalen Carter, c’mon you Asian,” Jarrett said. “Ching chong!”
Georgia DT Jamaal Jarrett streamed some racially insensitive remarks on IG live on draft night… Yikes. pic.
In the midst of a losing road trip, the Yankees are still awaiting an update on the status of injured slugger Aaron Judge, who hasn’t played since Thursday while dealing with a strained hip. With the team finishing up its series against the Rangers on Sunday, Judge remained out of the lineup and will undergo further evaluation on Monday.
“I know he came in feeling a little bit better today,” manager Aaron Boone said Sunday, per the Associated Press. “I’m sure he’ll go through everything, and we’ll evaluate where we are.
Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks spoke to the media for the first time since his team was eliminated by the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs and was asked if he regretted taking shots at LeBron James after his team’s Game 2 win. The comments caused a frenzy online and led many to believe that they played a role in the team’s downward spiral.
“No. That’s who I am,” Brooks told reporters Sunday at his team’s exit interviews, two days after the Grizzlies season ended in Los Angeles. “I don’t regret it. I’m a competitor, I compete.
Jimmy Butler scored 25 points, but was hobbled late by an ankle injury, as Miami overcame NY’s hot start to take the opener of the East semis.
Full disclosure, I’m not a huge fan of drafting tight ends in the first round of the NFL Draft. The data consistently shows that it’s one of the riskiest positions. Not only did the Buffalo Bills draft Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first round, but they traded up to do it.
If I’m not a fan of drafting a tight end in the first round, I’m an even bigger … uh, not fan? … of giving up draft capital to do it. The Bills moved up two spots in a trade with Jacksonville. In exchange, the Jaguars picked up a fourth-round pick.
Mike Shannon, who won two World Series championships as a player with the Cardinals before embarking on a 50-year broadcasting career with the team, died on Sunday, the team announced. He was 83.
A St. Louis native, Shannon debuted with the Cardinals in 1962 at age 22. He saw increased playing time in ’64, playing a key role in guiding the team to a World Series victory over the Yankees in seven games. Shannon became a full-time starter in ’66, and again helped lead St. Louis to a title in ’67, this time over the Red Sox.

Mercedes driver George Russell finishes P8, but knows there is more work to do
George Russell not only climbed into the points after starting 11th in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he managed to secure an additional point after picking up the fastest lap of the race in the closing laps.
However, in his own words the Mercedes driver was “disappointed” with himself following the effort in Baku.
On a restart following an early safety car, Russell “made a mess” of his start, putting himself in a difficult position.
