Utah Jazz standout Lauri Markkanen has some unfinished business to tend to this offseason.
Markkanen, a newfound star in Utah after being traded by the Cleveland Cavs in the blockbuster Donovan Mitchell trade, told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that he would be traveling back to his home country of Finland this offseason to fulfill military service.
“It’s mandatory, we have to do it. At the same time, we take pride in it, too,” Markkanen, 25, told ESPN. “I think it sets an example to serve.

Expectations for some were brought back down to Earth for some.

Zion Williamson remains without a date for his long-awaited return after Pelicans general manager David Griffin issued the latest update on the star forward’s health with the start of the postseason rapidly approaching.

After playing one season for Alabama, Jaden Bradley — one of three of the team’s players alleged to have been to have been in the area during the murder of Jamea Harris’ murder earlier this year — has decided to enter the transfer portal.
The former 5-star recruit is leaving Tuscaloosa after playing his freshman season with the Crimson Tide.
Bradley’s season didn’t quite go according to plan despite being named a McDonald’s All-American and ranking No. 20 in the 2022 recruiting class.
While still a starter, Bradley averaged seven points and 3.4 assists per game.
It was worth a shot! After a disappointing two-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on March 22, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban filed a request to overturn the L after an inbounding play in the third quarter went awry.
In a strange sequence of events, the Mavs team was on the opposite end of the court as the Warriors inbounded the ball and scored without a Mavs defender in sight.

The play resulted in an easy bucket for the Warriors, which proved vital in their narrow win.
Did Brooks Koepka’s caddie violate the rules of golf by providing an unfair advantage to another golfer? That is a question that the powers that be at The Masters had to answer.
UPDATE: The Rules Committee did not issue a penalty to Koepka or his caddie.
I spoke with @BKoepka who told me he had a discussion with an official from the Rules Committee about a possible infraction on the 15th hole. Ultimately, there was no penalty.
