The San Diego Padres have attempted to increase their standing in Major League Baseball through seemingly limitless spending.
Team ownership has made it a stated goal to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the perennial NL West favorites.
The Dodgers have won nine of the last 10 division titles, missing out by one game during a 106-win 2019 season. They won the 2020 World Series, sweeping the Padres in the NLDS in the process.
They’ve dominated the series between the teams, often filling half of San Diego’s Petco Park with Dodgers fans.

Down 2-0 to the Nuggets, Devin Booker carried the Suns to a victory in Game 3 with 47 points on 20-of-25 shooting. Yet, Phoenix’s win was partly overshadowed by the team’s decision to bench DeAndre Ayton, which led to Ayton not speaking with the media after the game.
The center had just four points and nine rebounds on the night, his worst performance of the playoffs thus far. After the game, Booker explained how he approaches trying to keep Ayton in the game when he’s struggling.

To say Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had fun at the NFL draft in Kansas City seems like an understatement.
Kelce and Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes seemingly worked as unofficial masters of ceremonies for the weekend, acting as the public faces of the Super Bowl champions two months after their 38-35 victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.
However, a widely circulated the video of Kelce spiking the Lombardi Trophy at a music festival he staged adjacent to the draft suggested to some that the Cincinnati product had a little too much fun.

This weekend, the two teams faced off for the first time since that playoff series, and San Diego struck first with a 5-2 win. Fernando Tatis Jr. led the way, as the outfielder slugged two home runs off Clayton Kershaw in the game.

Who knew that someone would be a rookie?
