Victor Wembanyama is going to be the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. It’s a matter of which team will draw the first overall position, not a matter of who that team is going to draft.

Rockets Owner Enjoying Mardi Gras, Asks Fans To Pray Team Lands Victor Wembanyama

Wembanyama is a unicorn. Basketball has largely evolved into a positionless game, and the 19-year-old French superstar is the perfect fit for any system in the league.
At 7-foot-4, calling him a “big” would be an insult to his raw athleticism.

NBA Draft prospect Victor Wembanyama is widely considered to be the best prospect in the draft this year, as the 7’2” forward has dominated the LNB Pro A in France. Despite his size, Wembanyama has consistently showed his high-level outside shooting and dribbling skill.
His entire skill set was on display on Sunday, as the 19-year-old produced a viral highlight in a game. While isolated on a defender, Wembanyama gained separation through a series of dribbles and shot a step back three-pointer. LSU coach Kim Mulkey’s wardrobe choices have been among March Madness’ biggest storylines. With the Tigers in the women’s national title game on Sunday, the expectations were high for Mulkey to raise the stake. Unsurprisingly, she did not disappoint.
Mulkey bypassed a pink-themed outfit she’s used in the previous two rounds of the tournament for a mascot-inspired look, donning sequined tiger stripes shimmering in black and gold from head to toe. To put it mildly, it was a show-stopper.

For many New York Rangers fans, Alexis Lafrenière has not lived up to expectations. As the #1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, many expected him to immediately be a force in the league.
But not all #1 picks are created equally. For example, Connor McDavid is barely human. He’s basically a hockey-playing machine. Expecting Lafrenière to be McDavid is unfair.
Plus, McDavid is top-line player. For his entire Rangers career, Lafrenière has generally been relegated to third or fourth line duties. That’s a good problem for the team, which has veterans capable of filling those top-line roles.
