Manny Machado is going to be in brown and yellow for the rest of his career. The team added star shortstop Xander Bogaerts in free agency, forming a dominant left side of the infield.
A trade deadline blockbuster brought in superstar outfielder Juan Soto, and the team can expect Fernando Tatis Jr. back early in the season.
Even better, team ownership has repeatedly stressed that it’s committed to spending money and doing whatever it takes to win.

Marcus Spears wasn’t impressed by Deion Sanders’ outlook on recruiting.
The Colorado head coach made some waves when he claimed that he looks for QBs with high GPAs who come from two-parent households, and ideally, he’d be a coach’s son. A QB prospect also can’t have issues off the field. On the offensive line, he needs players with strong father figures, reasonably good GPAs and “tough.”

On the other side of the ball, he wants defensive linemen who are fighting and scraping by on “free lunch” and “trying to rescue mama.

The Bucks star had a unique chance to take aim at his peers on The Daily Show Monday night.
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo joined The Daily Show on Monday night, and host Hasan Minhaj gave the NBA champion a chance to roast some of his fellow NBA stars.
However, the “Greek Freak” struggled to put some real firepower behind his comments.
First, he attempted to target Mavericks star Luka Dončić.
“Listen, Luka,” Antetokounmpo said as he was quickly met with laughter from the audience.

His knee buckled when running the bases during spring training.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Tuesday that shortstop Gavin Lux suffered a torn ACL and he will miss the 2023 season. After the news broke, Lux took to Twitter with a message. 
“Just wanted to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers, means more than you know!” he said in a tweet. 
Lux suffered the injury on Monday when it appeared his knee buckled during a spring training game while running to third base and he was eventually carted off the field.

Northern Arizona’s college basketball announcer Mitch Strohman is an electric factory. However, he got a bit ahead of himself during Tuesday’s game against Weber State.
Strohman is currently in his 22nd season as the ‘Voice of the Lumberjacks’ on the Learfield network. Entering the 2022/23 season, he had called the play-by-play for 217 football games and 596 men’s basketball games.

With an expanded 2024 Copa América and ’26 World Cup, the confederation revealed its qualifying campaign along with a new Nations League format.
The U.S. will have to win just one of two potential home-and-away series against Concacaf opposition to qualify for the 2024 Copa América, the regional governing body revealed Tuesday as it unveiled its ’23–25 senior men’s competition structure.
Next year’s Copa América, which will be staged in the U.S., will include six Concacaf qualifiers alongside the 10 South American nations that traditionally contest the prestigious tournament.

Sometimes professional baseball players can be just like us. Sure, they make millions of dollars and travel the world playing a game that they love but things can also get difficult for them in life. 
Just look at what happened to New York Mets infielder Luis Guillorme during a spring training game earlier this week. He was a little out of breath after getting on base and because of that he hoped his teammate, Pete Alonso, could hit a home run for him so he could just trot around the bases instead of having to sprint around them on any other type of hit.

A sexual assault lawsuit levied against Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is headed back to court after initially being dismissed.
The personal injury suit related to an alleged incident in 2018 was filed in 2020 in Dallas County district court. However, The Dallas Morning News reports that it was dismissed last year.
The incident allegedly occurred at AT&T Stadium on Sept. 16, 2018. It claimed Jones kissed a woman “on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent.
