He previously coached the Cardinals and Titans.
Former NFL coach Ken Whisenhunt has been added to Alabama’s staff directory, listed as special assistant to coach Nick Saban.
Whisenhunt, an offensive analyst at Penn State for the last two seasons, replaces now-North Texas special teams coordinator Drew Svoboda. He will reunite with one of his former quarterbacks from his pro coaching days and his son-in-law, Zach Mettenberger, who is now an analyst for the Crimson Tide.

The Ravens will most likely keep their star QB in the fold, but what if they don’t? He’d be a great fit with these teams.
The quarterback position could have some major movement this offseason, with a few huge names possibly changing teams either via free agency or trades. One of those names happens to be one of the elite players at the position: Lamar Jackson.
The chances that the Baltimore Ravens will let Jackson walk as a free agent are slim to none, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the team plans to use the exclusive rights franchise tag to retain him.

In case you’re wondering whether his ideas have since gotten better, they haven’t. He now has an all-time dumb suggestion:
Make the Super Bowl a PPV event.

Plus: More from one the final full slate ahead of the All-Star break.
Honestly, I could get used to these 10-game nights in the NBA. Basketball is at its best right now, and it’s especially wonderful when there is action happening all at once, all over the league.
I’m sure the players agree. They don’t want the All-Star break to come, right? Just ask Derrick White.

Tom Izzo has long been more than just Michigan State’s basketball coach, a title he has relished since 1995 with eight Final Fours, the 2000 national title, a runner-up in 2009 and 10 Big Ten regular season crowns.
He is a Michigan man, meaning the state of Michigan. A native of Iron Mountain in the Upper Peninsula, or a Yooper as they say, he has never played or coached in another state. He has been at Michigan State for four decades – the last 28 years as head coach.
