A game that good shouldn’t have ended like this.
The Kansas City Chiefs deserved to win the Super Bowl for dozens of reasons. Their second-half play calling found defensive weakness and exploited them. Patrick Mahomes played through considerable ankle pain, Andy Reid proved why he’s one of the best of all time, and the entire offensive unit around Mahomes stepped up to win.

A five-time Super Bowl champion will finally return to the Big Game. Plus, a couple of surprise division winners, destinations for free agent quarterbacks and running backs, and contract extensions for some of the biggest names in the league.
The Super Bowl is over, and the Chiefs are your new world champions. That means it’s time to stop ignoring the rest of the league, as we did so inconsiderately this week at the NFL’s season-ending circus.
Here, for you, is a batch of 32 fresh (for the most part) predictions for the upcoming season … one for every team.

The slippery field was a total disaster.
The Chiefs beat the Eagles, 38–35, Sunday night in Super Bowl LVII in what was a thrilling game that was slightly marred by a controversial call in the final seconds and completely marred by horrible field conditions from basically the opening kickoff that should have the NFL feeling embarrassed Monday morning.
The league’s biggest game of the season was played on such a slippery and awful surface that we saw players losing their footing and falling all over the place.
Just look at what happened to Eagles kicker Jake Elliott on a kickoff.

Plus, Toronto had a close call against bottom-feeding Detroit
Super Bowl, Shmuper Bowl, I always say. The end of the NFL season finally signifies the stretch run of the NBA season, and the casuals will now be coming along for the ride.
If you fall into the category of “having no clue of what’s happening this season,” then let me catch you up to speed. The Celtics have dominated most of this regular season, coming off their Finals loss hungrier than ever. There’s been a sense of inevitability to their contention in some ways.

Kansas City is once again atop the NFL world, but even a one-of-a-kind “Superman” QB couldn’t do it all on his own.
The game had been over for almost four hours, and Andy Reid made his way through the lobby of the team hotel, with the Chiefs’ party picking up steam an easy Patrick Mahomes throw away. Every few feet, someone was stopping him for a handshake, hug or a congrats, and it continued as he and his wife, Tammy, made their way past a set of ropes and into a VIP area, and well into the night.

Here’s our latest projection of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The season is now over, the confetti has hit the field, and the champions are celebrating their Super Bowl victory. However, football doesn’t stop here. With the season in the rear view, the NFL world turns to the NFL Draft as the next major event. It’s tough to get a good view of what will happen in the draft because coaching staffs need to be filled out and free agency needs to happen first, but we’re going to give it our best shot.
A couple of housekeeping notes, here.

While the vast majority of NFL fans and the entire population of Philadelphia disagreed with the late holding penalty on James Bradberry in the Super Bowl, the Eagles’ corner admitted that he was trying to get away with one on the play.
With the game tied 35-35 with just under two minutes left in regulation, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an incomplete pass intended for JuJu Smith-Schuster on 3rd and 8.
It looked as if the Eagles were about to get the ball back with a chance to win it, but then the flag came out with Bradberry being called for holding.

The Kansas City right tackle stood tall on the biggest stage
We need to show Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Andrew Wylie some love.
In the buildup to Super Bowl LVII, supposedly smart people — like myself — argued that the Philadelphia Eagles defensive front would be a huge different in the game. Notably, the matchup between Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick, and Wylie, the Chiefs right tackle.
With 13 of Reddick’s 16 sacks this season coming over the right tackle, this was a matchup that could tilt the course of Super Bowl LVII.
It certainly did.
