Queer women and fans who love them were the clear winners at last night’s WNBA draft at New York’s Hudson Yards.
The top 2 draft picks went to queer athletes Azzi Fudd and Olivia Miles, in that order, and one of the sport’s favorite love stories picked up steam.
Fudd, a star guard for the UConn Huskies, was expected by many to grab the No. 1 spot ahead of the night’s festivities and famous orange carpet.
The Oklahoma Sooners are the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation, securing the top spot in the four major polls released after their series win over Texas. Oklahoma was voted the No. 1 team in the Softball America, D1Softball, USA Softball, and NFCA Coaches Poll this week.
It’s the Sooners’ first time atop the NFCA coaches poll since week 13 of last season.
Oklahoma split the first-place votes with Texas Tech, both teams receiving 12 of the possible 31 first-place votes. The Sooners edged the Red Raiders by two points in the vote to claim the No. 1 spot in the poll.

We’re getting to the point where no aspect of this World Cup is safe from price gouging. And that seems to include public transit.
How does a $100 train ticket to Metlife Stadium (soon to be renamed New York New Jersey Stadium) sound? Well, fans looking to travel to the venue from New York’s Penn Station should be prepared to pay that drastically hiked fare come World Cup time, according to The Athletic.
