GREEN BAY – A week before their first selection in the 2026 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers created more space on their roster.
The Packers released linebacker Jamon Johnson, cornerback Tyron Herring and tight end McCallan Castles on April 17.
Their departures leave the Packers’ offseason roster at 72 players, 18 short of maximum. They currently have eight picks in next week’s draft, starting with the 52nd overall in the second round.
The team will fill most, if not all, of their remaining spots with undrafted rookies after the draft.

Leinster survived a stirring second-half comeback from Ulster to win a thrilling Irish derby in Belfast and move above their rivals in the United Rugby Championship standings.
The visitors dominated the first half and led 15-0 through James Culhane and Jimmy O’Brien tries.

Former USWNT star Megan Rapinoe and WNBA legend Sue Bird have announced they are splitting up after nearly a decade together.
According to Yahoo Sports, the two sports stars got together in 2017. But, despite having similar backgrounds and pretty similar political views, they couldn’t make it work.
“There really is no smooth or easy way to share this news. After a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision to separate as a couple,” the now-former couple said in a joint Instagram post (It’s 2026, how else would they do it?).
