Dustin Harris led off the seventh inning with a pinch-hit double and scored the tiebreaking run for the White Sox on a wild pitch by John Schreiber (0-2).
Chicago equaled a club record by using nine pitchers in a nine-inning game. That mark was set against Cleveland on Sept. 14, 1997.
The Knicks’ playoff opponent is officially set.
With Boston beating Orlando, Miami beating Atlanta, and Toronto beating Brooklyn on Sunday, New York is officially set to meet the Hawks in the first round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
Atlanta played the Knicks tough during their regular season matchups.
While New York took the series 2-1, the two victories were three point games and the loss was by 12.
The latest meeting was earlier this week, when New York hung on to end the Hawks’ 13-game home winning streak.
This will be the fourth time that they face-off in the playoffs.

The NBA is about to take center stage, with new and old faces set to star in the playoffs. While every team has just one game left in the regular season, there is still much to be determined.
In the Eastern Conference, seeds Nos. 1-4 are locked up, as the Detroit Pistons will be the top seed in the playoffs.
Projected first-round NFL draft pick Rueben Bain Jr. was involved in a 2024 vehicular crash in Miami that led to a passenger’s death, according to a police report obtained by Oliver Connolly of the newsletter The Read Optional.
The Miami edge rusher was cited in March 2024 for careless driving after causing a crash that led to the incapacitation of a 22-year-old woman, who later died after spending three months in a coma.
Bain, who spent the past three seasons at Miami, is projected to go 10th overall in Yahoo Sports’ most recent mock draft.
The Milwaukee Bucks are moving forward without head coach Doc Rivers. The team reportedly split with Rivers on Sundayafter going 32-50during a miserable 2025-26 NBA season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The decision ends Rivers’ two-and-a-half seasons with the team. Rivers had one final season left on his initial contract with the Bucks.
Expectations were exceptionally high when Rivers was hired as the team’s replacement for Adrian Griffin, who was fired during the 2023-24 NBA season despite leading the team to a 30-13 record.
