ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Garret Anderson, the multitalented outfielder who became the Los Angeles Angels’ career hits leader and led the team to its only World Series title, has died. He was 53.
The Angels announced Anderson’s death Friday morning without immediately disclosing the cause or location.
Anderson reached the majors with the then-California Angels in 1994 and played for the club until 2008, primarily as a left fielder.

The Angels and Major League Baseball announced Anderson’s passing on Friday. The team did not announced a cause of death.

“Garret will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Angels fans for his professionalism, class, and loyalty throughout his career and beyond. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Anderson family,” the Angels posted in a statement.
Samford transfer forward Dylan Faulkner has committed to Clemson. On3’s Joe Tipton first reported the news. Clemson will mark Faulkner’s third program in four seasons.
Faulkner previously played at Lipscomb from 2023-2025. Across three collegiate seasons, the Calhoun, GA native boasts career averages of 11.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.3 assists. He is coming off a career-best season, in which he averaged a near double-double (17.2 points and 8.6 rebounds).
We know that Week 0 of the college football season has become synonymous with taking the sport international, as the Aer Lingus Classic from Dublin, Ireland, signifies the start of the season. College basketball is now getting into the overseason action.
In the first game of its kind, college basketball will see two teams, Notre Dame and Villanova, both the men’s and women’s teams, travel to Rome, Italy, to play on Nov. 1.
The matchup and event are going to be titled the Eternal City Tip-Off and give college basketball its chance for global shine.

If you have been following the NFL at all recently, you know that things didn’t end well between the Miami Dolphins and former quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
