Zachariah Branch’s life-changing week got off to a much faster start than anyone, including himself, could have imagined.
The former Georgia wide receiver, who is widely projected to be a second-round pick in this week’s 2026 NFL Draft, was arrested in Athens early Sunday morning. According to the Athens Clarke County jail booking report, Branch was charged with obstructing public sidewalks/ โ€“ prowling as well as obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

After finishing a throwing session, the Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star was told about a woman sitting nearby in a wheelchair. So he walked over, knelt down and introduced himself.
That woman was Momoyo Nakamoto Kelley โ€” a 100-year-old survivor of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
Kelley, who was 19 years old when the bomb was dropped on Aug. 9, 1945, later immigrated to the United States and now lives in Salt Lake City.
