NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Shea Theodore had a goal and an assist, Akira Schmid got a shutout against his former team, and the Vegas Golden Knights beat the New Jersey Devils 3-0 on Friday night.
Tomas Hertl and Ivan Barbashev also scored and Jack Eichel had two assists for Vegas, which has won three straight after a four-game skid (0-2-2). Schmid, who spent three seasons with New Jersey before being traded to Vegas on June 29, 2024, finished with 24 saves to get his third career shutout — second this season.

The Boston College men’s hockey team defeated UMass Lowell 3-1 on Friday night to kick off their final weekend of the first half of the season. Dean Letourneau had a two-goal night, James Hagens scored again to continue his recent stretch of strong play, and the Eagles made it two wins in a row as they started this home-and-home series with an overall solid performance.
It was a slow start to the game for both teams, with neither side generating much in terms of scoring chances or even shots for the opening 15 or so minutes.
