No. 11 Texas Tech dominates Houston 35-11 to improve to 5-0

HOUSTON (AP) — Behren Morton threw for 345 yards and a touchdown, J’Koby Williams ran for two scores and No. 11 Texas Tech improved to 5-0 with a 35-11 victory over previously unbeaten Houston on Saturday night.
It’s the first time the Red Raiders have won their first five games since opening the 2013 season 7-0 and is the eighth 5-0 start in school history.
Texas Tech (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) has dominated through its first five games, winning each contest by at least 24 points and outscoring opponents 243-56.

FC Cincinnati picked up an important 1-0 win against the New York Red Bulls Oct. 4 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey.
Cincinnati improves to 19-9-5 for 62 points, and second place in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference. They lost their chance at the MLS Supporters’ Shield when Philadelphia Union defeated New York City Football Club 1-0 Oct. 4.
Cincinnati clinched home-field advantage for the first round of the MLS playoffs, which begins Oct. 24. Cincy will be battling Inter Miami for second place in the East the final two weeks, and can finish no worse than third place.

Richardson’s receiving, Jones’ special teams score lead Texas Southern 51-7 past Arkansas-Pine Bluff

HOUSTON (AP) — Roriyon Richardson had two receiving touchdowns and Donovan Jones had a special teams touchdown to lead Texas Southern to a dominant 51-7 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday night.
Richardson secured an 11-yard score with 10:12 remaining in the second quarter, then tallied a second with 6:57 remaining in the third to make it 44-0. He had 103 yards receiving on seven receptions for Texas Southern (2-3, 2-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference).
After a 27-0 first half, Jones continued the onslaught.
