Good rivalries never die, the hatred always simmers just beneath the surface.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants have one of the best rivalries in the MLB (second only to Red Sox-Yankees), and last night that intensity spilled over.
Legendary pitcher Clayton Kershaw announced his retirement after this season on Thursday. He did so with one more scheduled start, at home against the Giants (how poetic, right?). He struck out Rafael Devers in his last batter faced in the regular season.

For the second week in a row, no Seattle Seahawks players were fined for game infractions (whether called or uncalled). Sam Darnold’s first touchdown pass as Seahawks quarterback, however, should’ve had a flag thrown at the time and did cost a Pittsburgh Steelers star some money.
Veteran linebacker Patrick Queen was fined $17,389 for a blow to the head/neck area on Darnold’s pass to rookie receiver Tory Horton. It looked pretty clear watching on the television broadcast that Darnold was hit up top and illegally so, but there was no flag thrown.
The Ravens ruled out four players on their final injury report ahead of their Week 3 matchup with the Lions, including star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike.
Madubuike’s neck injury has grown into a major concern for Baltimore’s defense. He anchored the pass rush in the first two games, but he will be sidelined on Monday night and potentially longer. On Saturday, John Harbaugh declined to share any details regarding the nature of the injury, saying only that Madubuike “came up with some symptoms after the game” last Sunday.
LAS VEGAS, Nevada: Monster Energy Pro Circuit teammates Kawasaki Seth Hammaker (1:32.637) and Levi Kitchen (1:33.042) topped the first qualification chart with less than half a second separating them.
In the championship battle, Jo Shimoda (1:33.099) landed third to outpace fifth-place Haiden Deegan (1:33.743).
Ryder DiFrancesco (1:33.248) landed fourth on the chart.
Cole Davies clipped a Tuff Blox and face-planted late in the first qualification session, but he was was delayed getting onto the track and had completed only two laps.
Texas Tech Red Raiders defensive lineman Dylan Singleton (93) jumps on a loose ball during the first half of the game against the Utah Utes at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.

Maryland football’s Saturday bout against Wisconsin was going to be a barometer for the Terps no matter the outcome. And while it wasn’t a perfect outing, it was a performance that should leave both fans and head coach Michael Locksley satisfied with where the team stands.
Through 60 minutes, Maryland ultimately got the best of the Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium, 27-10.
Here are three takeaways from the game.
Special teams shined
Just how good was Maryland’s special teams unit Saturday? The Terps have blocked six kicks over the past two seasons.
Saturday at the Baku City Circuit saw a new Formula 1 record, as six red flags flew during the qualifying hour in a frenetic session. When the dust settled, a surprising trio finished up front, as Max Verstappen took pole position ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr. and Liam Lawson.
That performance has Sainz in striking distance of his first podium with his new team, Williams.
After the qualifying hour, Sainz outlined how Williams “nailed” the session.
“Honestly, we nailed the qualifying today,” said Sainz trackside to Jamie Chadwick.
